SF3, Third Strike specifically, I feel was highly under appreciated at the time of its release. I know a lot of that is due to the fact that SF3 and 2nd Impact weren’t great, but Third Strike was the genre perfected IMO. Any OG fight game fans I know all seem to agree on that as well. SF4 was great too, though I wasn’t a big fan of the focus mechanic. I much preferred the SF3 parry system.

Street Fighter 3 didn't necessarily gone well ever since it's initial release, referring to new generation, but then later on it became a true gem of a game since 3rd Stike came, Well later on, it didn't go well since release, To the point where Capcom had to make the idea on which SF3 era too place before SF5, So not only Street Fighter 4 made the franchise a comeback, it also had to make the story make sense. Lol

I read the title and was like "WTF HUH?!?". Then I actually watched the video and was like "Oooh, ok". Street Fighter 4 definitely revived the series (hell, the entire GENRE at the time) from near total death. I started playing it again recently and while the character models are showing their age, the gameplay is still just as excellent as it was all those years ago.

SF4 saved Street Fighter after SF3 all but killed it with their terrible new characters for a decade. Its a shame they added Third Strike characters later on. It was a literal "IV" to the franchise. SF5 was a downgrade, number 6 is focused on new players that dont want to learn fighters (very annoying for it to be set to modern controls automatically).

Exactly how I feel about the franchise now compared to how much I LOVED it from the 90s up to the mid 2000s. Capcom completely alienated a big chunk of their SF fans (my friends and I included) with SF5 with their TERRIBLE decisions with the Vanilla Edition, lackluster content, Poor story, downgraded character looks, Fight Money system, and voice acting. *Street Fighte II* is still king in my book.

Let's talk about how bad this comment is. Considering that the sf3 chars that were originally added into sf4 weren't in the bottom 10 played chars in the upgraded edition of sf4 proves that those characters were indeed enjoyed. Also sf3 introduced things like the parry system that became a staple in fighting games, on top of that it gave us one of.. if not the most legendary fighting game moment ever with the daigo parry on justin wong which is the most emulated fighting game moment by far and nothing comes close. But your comment also indicates..you really don't know street fighter that well. Considering street fighter alpha 2 had a manual/auto option at the character select which auto served as a simple mode for players who couldn't understand the special inputs and gave them shortcuts to do supers and special moves... and that was back in 95/96 sooooo.. yeah you're just wrong bro

*Street Fighter IV* just may be my favorite of the series. That’s saying a lot, I know. I LOVE all of SFII, SF Alpha*, all of *SFIII . *Street Fighter V* ended up good, not great, after a trip and fall launch. *Street Fighter 6* is on the right track, but only time will tell. But *Street Fighter IV* is truly stellar! It, and its micro-sequels, are the greatest fighters since *Street Fighter II* .

I just started playing Street Fighter 4 Ultra edition on PS3. I totally suck at it. I can figure the moves out. I played for hours yesterday but couldn't get past the 3rd round. I went out and bought a fight stick. Gonna keep trying. I want to learn how to play so I can teach my cousin. So we can play against each other.

From what I have heard, the live action Street Fighter video game movie was a flop and I have to agree after playing Super Street Fighter 4 on the 3DS. I wouldn't be surprised if the cast took the low standards of the live action Super Mario Bros movie to heart.

You forgot to mention one thing SSF4 may have added many new characters and improve online connectivity and such, but they also REMOVED many modes No trials, no time attack, etc Adding one doesn't justify the removal of other things Keep EVERYTHING 🤦‍♂

Ono wasn't appointed to the project, he and Seth Killian basically rallied up the press to cheer for a return of Street Fighter, especially in the west, since Keiji Inafune's mantra was "appeal to the west". And yes, Street Fighter 4 shouldn't exist, because there was almost no backup from within the company, no one believed in it. According to Ono SF4 was an unwanted child up to the day of release.

One of the best for the PS3. Visually, control and just plain fun. I'm not too thrilled on Street fighter 6. It's still a good game though. just not the best. Street fighter 4 was one of the knockout revolutionary Street fighter games. Not taking anything from Street fighter 5 it was good too.

Super SF4 on 3DS was pretty decent (as was Dead or Alive Dimensions, a scaled down port of DoA4)...now, if only the clowns on the Mortal Kombat staff had the brains to go dig out the souped up Mortal Kombat Gold (the Dreamcast version of MK4) and port that to 3DS like how they strangely ported UMK3 to the original DS (instead of the infinitely superior MK Trilogy)...but meanwhile, while the Android & iOS Street Fighter IV: Champion Edition made SF4 more accessible - how many people by that point had a smartphone compared to a 3DS?? - but it's a seriously janky mess. It's not bad by any stretch, but the jankiness WILL remind older fans of the likes of X-Men vs. Street Fighter: EX Edition on the PSone (as that was THE jankiest of the three). And then perhaps Capcom should've expanded their horizons with ports of Biohazard 4/Resident Evil 4 & Rockman X4/Megaman X4, since that seemed to be a pretty lucky number for the 3DS. 😏 And marketing speak be damned, Ultra SF4 absolutely shouldn't have happened. Whatever stuff was added should've just been additional DLC or software updates for Super SF4 Arcade Edition. That was just poorly thought out (unless Capcom just wanted a sick lookin' "ULTRA" logo; they did, after all, use it again for Ultra SF2 on the Switch...). On the other hand, y'know what??? I don't see Capcom having the balls to attempt to port any form of something like Street Fighter ZERO3 to smartphones...not even SFZ3 Upper for the Gameboy Advance, and absosmurfinlutely not even the superior and almost perfect SFZ3 Double Upper/SFA3 Max for PSP (only thing dragging it down was the absolute 🐳💩 Dreamcast version's World Tour Mode, wtf was wrong with the PSone/Saturn version's World Tour!?)...

SFIV didn't revive fighting games(which where in their silver age during the 2000's). but gave it a necessary CPR(Tekken 6 left a bad taste in the mouths of many). but SFIV as we know it wouldn't exist without The Rumble Fish. As for SFIII, Capcom and Arika should've co-developed the game as a 3D Fighter, with would briefly butterflied the EX series(it would've most likely been ITL SFIV around the Early to Mid 2000's)
