Street Foods at Shibamata : What's Hot in Tokyo with TabiEats

How is everyone? It's been a while to upload a new video! This is another What's Hot in Tokyo with TabiEats! This time we went to Shibamata which is the edge of Tokyo and has been really famous from the movie is called "Tora-san". The people living this area are super nice and they said this street hasn't changed for a long time so you can enjoy the time of Japanese Showa period. As you can see we really enjoyed the atmosphere and of course the foods!!!! I hope you will enjoy this video too!

I like that you dont edit the conversations to much. It feels like we are all hanging out. I especially like when Satoshi rushed to get the stick of fried food from the guy and without edit, it went right into you both trying it and giving your impressions. I also like the walking footage.

Thank you for another wonderful video Ai san. Shibamata is my favourite place in Tokyo. Anyone going there should also check out Yamamoto - tei, a traditional house and garden a short walk from the temple. From there you can take a lovely walk (to make room for more food!) along the Edo River. I feel homesick watching this video, it brings back so many happy memories.

I love this neighbourhood! Been there as a student a couple of years ago. The jingles at the station makes me feel really nostalgic. I love mugworth so the kusa dango has my name on it hahaha. the age looks delicious as well. The dagashi ya is so nostalgic, and I saw a big bag of umai bo for Satoshi :) I really want to take my daughter to a dagashi ya one time. Love your outfit Ai-san! you're so stylish! There was a movie recently about someone running a dorayaki stall. Had to get up at some ungodly hour in the morning every morning. One day a mysterious old lady comes by and he ends up hiring her, she teaches him how to make the anko from scratch and the stall suddenly becomes popular. Pretty good movie, too - but I can't remember what it was called. Does dorayaki have any real connection to Doraemon??? ^_^

Yes! The movie is called “AN” I think. That’s the one you are talking about I guess, and that’s the movie I want to see!!! The connection with Doraemon is his favorite food is Dorayaki!🤣

@@aismunchies An. Yes, it turns out that that was the title. There's actually a Wikipedia page, which I just found: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweet_Bean I wonder which came first, dorayaki or Doraemon. I suppose dorayaki's been around for a long time, but so has Doraemon! I love watching Japanese movies (there's an annual Japanese Film Festival here) but have trouble remembering titles! Thanks for making this video, I've put Shibamata on my list of places to visit - I plan to visit Tokyo sometime soon. Aside from the dorayaki there's that dagashi shop.. I've always wanted to visit one but didn't know how I'd go about finding one. I didn't think there'd be any left around Ikebukuro/Ginza/Shibuya/etc.
