That room doesn't leave much room for dancing everybody is dancing right on top of each other I'm sure when they were shooting this scene people have gotten hit in the face, back, legs and everywhere else.

If there were no editing we'd see exactly what the dancers were doing from the front from beginning to end so that ALL of the movement could be seen. What we got were shots of backs, faces and feet. And even those were so short and usually were taken when the dancers were "posing" and not actually moving. While visually dynamic it does NOTHING to show off the dancer's/choreographer's skill. It looks great but we actually see VERY LITTLE dancing, why waste great dancers & choreography with...

@kcgurl123 Yeah... the actual dance is supposed to do that, NOT editing. The entire point of the scene is, supposedly, to show us 1.how good the dancers are, 2.how much they want to be picked by the intensity of their dance. If they can't manage to show those things with the choreography & their dancing without the editing slight of hand, then it or they are not good enough. Obviously some editing must be done, but NOT any that obliterates the detail in what the dancers are doing.

...cont... with jumpy all over the place editing that is designed to make things look exciting that are actually quite dull. Sorry to go back in time here but Fred Astaire gave the best formula for filming great dancers and great choreography. NEVER film a dance sequence with anything other than the dancer being shot from head to toe from the front with very few well placed close ups that don't obscure the dancing at all. Great dancers don't need all the editing tricks.
