They were better together. You can tell both sides changed the video themes in the last 2 or 3 weeks. I see Billy Tommy & Allison joining up with Matt and generating a "franchise" that appeals to the SRC market. SRC Garage was terrific with the interaction between the 'ol man' and Billy, Tommy, Allison, with the model cars and the dogs... This content deficit is going to be tough on the 'ol man' ... the family dynamics are now missing. But like all of us, our kids move out ... and move on. It is what it is. Bill AND Tommy now hardly show their faces on SRC Garage.

My family went though the same thing in the 90's, we lived every day racing as a team my dad my brother and me, it all came full circle three years go with my 71 nova big tire build and now my brother and I both have big tire nova's and dad helped with the current project. I lost him this year he was 83 and I'm now 59. Do what you got to, keep up the work with your son's and I hope they keep you in the mix. I wish we had done more together as now we can't and I pray Billy and Tommy remember were they came from and how they got there. But they have to leave the nest sometime. I am happy to see you come out of retirement with your nova as my dad always wanted to build his own car again and never did. Life is to short.

Yes, yes, yes, YES! Been asking to see this car back in one piece and back in the fight for a while. It's great to be the coach, but sometimes you just gotta step back on the field. Definitely next year come out on Thursday and Friday versus Saturday, it's much more industry specific and a whole lot less "tire kickers" and signature / sticker chasers. Plus as you mentioned most of us have had a rough night or two by the time Saturday rolls around.

Yes you can and be competitive! You just need some seat time and you'll be right back in top form in short order. I feel your pain on the decision of running either a conventional SBC or an LS engine. I've always been a SBC guy, running 388s, 406s, 421s and 434s, but bang for buck the LS has proven to be a little better and less expensive. I run Holley Terminator EFI on mine and it does an awesome job and has endless possibilities when it comes to tuning. I had to mini tub my Vega to get a 10" wheel under it. I hated to do it, but the difference in traction is worlds apart from the 8" wheel I was running on the 28 or 29 x 10.50. It's not your first rodeo. You know what you gotta do. I'm excited for you. Can't wait to see You and the Nova back at it. I remember several years ago when I ran across you on Instagram and the chats we had about bracket racing, me trying to buy the Nova, you weren't hearing that, and so on. I'm glad you hung on to the car. It's a new chapter at SRC with Billy getting his own shop. I hope it all works out for the best for all involved. We all need our own space sometimes to process life. He's a sharp young man and you raised him right. He'll be just fine after he heals from what he's been through. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Have a good day Bill and God Bless you and the family.

I’ve gotta agree. I’m almost ten years older than Bill and have been messing with this stuff all my life and understand where Bill is coming from with the LS but the time has come to embrace the LS technology if you want to be competitive anymore. You can be competitive with the old school style engines but it comes at a huge cost that the LS doesn’t. I wish I still had my Barracuda Bill , I’d call ya out for an old man Dual. If you don’t like how the LS is treating you after several races, then swap it for a SBC again but it’s time to embrace the technology and utilize the advancements that all these years since you and I started have given us!! It’s a proven system Bill and it pains me to say that since I’m old school also but all I’m saying is try it, give it a chance, then make your decision!! Take care guys!!

Finally!!!! the Ol Man and the Nova are going to hit the track again! as far as the LS goes, you can always put carbs on an LS ;) i cannot wait. as far as the you and billy stuff, and this is just my 28 year old 2 cents here, i think its a good thing. let Billy get a taste of being on his own, doing his own race car thing. i think as a man gets older he wants his own spaces and working in your shop all the time is probably causing some of the tensions. him having his own space to work on the cars will also mean that the time you two do spend together may be more meaningful and joyous, because you two arent wrenching together every day. i think it'll be all good things going forward! much love to you and the family

I'm really looking forward to seeing the Nova come back together and I'm particularly stoked to see the C-10 come together. My first car was 69 Camaro I bought in 79 for $300 and my daily driver for many years in the 80's was a 68 C-10 so those vehicles are near and dear to me. I got into Fox Mustangs back in the early 90's and still have several of them, but seeing Bill doing this Nova is getting me inspired to find another 69 Camaro to build. For me, this channel just keeps getting better all the time.

It's very obvious they need space from each other, and between Billy, Tommy and Ryan they got five cars to work on, I think it's a win win for everyone, they boys have for room for activities for what they have going on, and grow the channel even more , and bill has his shop back to make his own car content, and likewise take his channel to the next level, hopefully he films the work he does and goes more in-depth, and not do what alot of other channels have gone to and do most of the work off camer a and stand around and point and talk about it for 20 minutes. A lot of these channels have gotten away from on camera working to bragging about what this or that cost patting themselves on the back, hell most of them have turned into infomercials about unrelated to the subject matter products.

Along with tubular control arms as well. I was really impressed with the quality of their stuff. I’d be excited for some content on the nova. I’ve always liked those cars a lot. It’s great in all aspects & I can’t thank you, your family & also Matt plus Big Rob for taking me away from this shitty world we live in when I get to watch from all the way over here in Aus 🇦🇺. Thank you very very much SRC & DNR… 🤙🤙🤙

Hate seeing Billy moving out of the SRC garage because I appreciated the family bond, but it's also a sign of growth in the young fella. Those boys have had a tremendous mentor and they'll always be grateful and love their Dad. All of us older men have eventually wanted to go our own way. It's a change, but family will always be more valuable than anything on 4 wheels.

Interestingly enough, I watched a video about a Nova rebuild yesterday where they said the exact same thing about the front subframes. They were adding aftermarket suspension to a factory subframe and had to clearance each side differently, as the bump stops and spring pockets were different side to side.

Hearing you talk about having stacks and stacks of Super Chevy and hot rod magazine takes me back to my childhood with my dad having stacks on top of stacks of Chevy and car magazines. We love Chevy small blocks. We didn't race but we always had Nova and Camaro projects especially since rearends and front clips interchange. Nothing like a father son bond working on cars!

Wow! I remember that magazine with the blue nova. I remember reading that magazine at my brothers repair shop and staring at that car for hours! :)

I would love to see that 90s style "Retro Nova" with a fully modern drivetrain under the hood!

We love all your family and hope you stay with family content that is what my wife and I enjoy the most. I am a racer from way back (Seventies) and love the family involvement. Great to see the "Old man" get back in it, as I did. As far as the Nova power, I can't help hoping you stay with Old Chevy muscle, The LS is great, and all those turbo Mustangs really carry the mail, but my nostalgia mind keeps bringing me back to the old stuff. Impresses me when a steel body, NA car can run in the nines and even in the eights and they can and do! Just sayin and we will keep watchin.

I’ve only recently become a subscriber to your channel but to go back in time to an older video of yours it’s pretty incredible how much your content and production quality have risen in a relatively short time. Btw I have a 20yr collection of HRM myself.

I have been hoping you would start on the nova and get back in racing. Your sons have good channels but you are the reason I started watching a couple years ago. You are very relative and I have learned alot by watching your channel.

SRC Garage is getting to be the best show of all the SRC channels.

CVF makes great stuff for s10(or many other) ls swaps and keeping ac. I can definitely tell that shop is getting too packed and hard to work in especially on a full car build. Billy might as well use the shop he has

Bill im unsure if you’ll see this or not. But I’ve watched your nova from afar since I started watching y’all about 1 year ago. But I’m so happy to see you get your nova at. I’m building a back track car too and I am Ecstatic to watch your build and get tips and ideas from.

I agree on keeping it old school. I grew up sbc, that's what my dad taught me, and I'm still sbc. An LS want do the nova any justice.
