Oh I've seen him around the Bowes center and was wondering what was up with the tall unicycle now I know!

If you want to be accepted to the SF Conservatory of Music, focus on your skills as violinist first and foremost. Forget about the juggling, forget about everything else. And KPIX, please fix poor audio. C'mon guys, you should know how to do location audio.

Years ago, a friend and I played our respective instruments near Ghirardelli Square a couple of times during our S.F. Conservatory undergraduate years. We both went on to become professional musicians, but at the time we needed to support ourselves. My dad was fortunate because he was in the SF Symphony, so he had a "real" job. Though music has been my one true passion, the struggles mixed with the great opportunities along the way still make me think 40 years later if it was all worth it, which is yes. Good luck to this violinist, and many more budding young musicians for at least trying. I only hope he or she is informed of the realities in the business.

Next week we'll be hearing about how his violin was stolen.
