Hawk Wolinski was a member of Rufus (featuring Chaka Khan) and a native Chicagoan, he's friends with Danny Seraphine and they wrote several songs together during the first incarnation of Chicago

Remember this was there jump into disco. This is when anyone or band would come up with something that could work in the clubs. Nicky Siano would loop this over and over in studio 54. He was legendary. He'd morph this onto '"do you think I'm sexy." A magical time. I'm so glad I grew up then. NYC was on fire.

Chicago XIII - the album didn't do well, I think. I discovered Street Player only in the last 10 years. The original version is like 9 minutes long, and I guess it didn't lend well to radio play. It's an amazing song that really highlights Chicago's attributes.
