3/4 years ago l used to scrap with trailer. Now l just park and walk around with a trolley in the council hard waste collections. Like Ben, alot of treasures are hidden and missed by drive by cars. Brass, copper, tools, money, the list goes on. And l am getting healthier

5:00 you can see them around here all the time, they go around on bicycles with an old milk crate strapped on the back and they basically ride around cutting cords and pickup little else. Enjoy the lovely weather lol it's windy and snowing here. 55:00 is called a chandelier, and it's a nice one at that.

Fun fact ben. The metal bits on the plugs of cords is usaly brass so if you pull them out you can sell as brass

The container deposit vending machine here takes a brand of steel beverage can. So I crammed 5 of those steel beverage cans with cut up steel bits from tuna and salmon tins and beer and liquor bottle twist top caps. The tins were thus a touch too heavy and the vending machine conveyor only just accepted them. You could say don't frig about with the machines like that, but the verification is in the accepting and paying on it. I agree, a totally poobah of a thing to do, but I got some extra scrap steel into the more streamlined deposit system. Pure steel inside pure steel, no foreign muck involved. No contamination.

That really is a nice chandelier. The glass bowls are called Bobèche. Back when candles were used they were there to catch the dripping wax.
