The scrap yards have stopped having them not too sure if it's something to do with the gass or if the metal is to contaminated. I've never asked to be honest

the scrap yards say that there not enough steel on the fridge's and to much plastic and foam

its due to the gasses, some idiot from the environment agency in the early 2000's decided it was effecting the ozone layer, yet we are the only country where you cant take fridges in as scrap, most of europe and the US can weigh them in no problem, but backward england here have to make stupid laws up
