In this 2nd episode of Street Studio, Dani Diamond took a new approach when he photographed strangers on the street. Being a fashion photographer in NYC, he decided to do a fashion-inspired photoshoot using completely random individuals at the Jersey Shore. After a passerby agreed, they were brought into Molly & Zoey, a boutique in Pier Village to get dressed in something fashion-forward. One of Dani’s gifts is knowing how to make people feel confident and beautiful by bringing out the model in everyone. With his experience in natural lighting, no strobes were needed. Just the sun, a V-Flat, and some crazy skills, Dani made these images look straight out of a magazine.

Thank you for having me! For those saying this was staged, this was not, I'd see no point to be part of such a thing. It was actually very refreshing for me to approach strangers on the street and take them from anxiety level 100 to 0 in 15 minutes. I think i need to try this exercise more.

That was a great video! Funny as we live in a world of selfies having someone else take your picture and find interesting angles will always be a great experience if we are open to it and not stuck on looking a certain way. Great job Mr. Dani Diamond and Team, and thanks to ADORAMA for having these great videos on their channel!

Dani is a rockstar. His Proedu course was pivotal in my learning how to photograph people. Game changer. You can see the outcome even with normal people. Adorama, please have him do a video on clothes selection. That's rarely covered and Dani gets paid to do it.

Fun video guys. Can I make a small suggestion? When you show the resulting photos, don’t put any imagery either side of them. They flash up so fast, that by the the time my brain has picked out what’s the photo vs the image noise surrounding it, it’s gone again....By the way, my V-Flats arrived from Adorama last week and I’ve already done two shoots with them. Love them!

I went to my local park to ask strangers if they'd be open to me photographing them. The first two people refused and before I could ask a third person, the police arrived. They wanted to know what I was up to, where were the photos being used, and then they took my ID and ran a wants and warrants check on me. My momma didn't raise a dummy. I'll NEVER do that again.

nice tuto. i see you are alternating 35mm and 85mm in comments ? can you please give some advises on iso, aperture, speed for good exposure without filling flash ? do you spot meter on face ? i always need a flash otherwise eyes are too dark (shadows) in lightroom and if i reduce shutter speed, background is burnt.

If this was all about random people and acceptance, why is it that you chose non big persons with decent looks, everyone is random and has their own personality. I do love these street shoots though.

I'm really digging this series. One of the coolest things in the world is taking someone who maybe doesn't have actual modeling experience (beyond selfies?) and giving them beautiful photos of themselves. It's like, "Look how fantastic you are." It's a good feeling and it's even fun to watch.

Loved the energy of the photographer. The subjects, outfits and environment were great. What’s up with not wearing the face masks again, while photographing strangers on the street? Masks were worn in the clothing store, but probably because the shop owner and other customers would have given you a hard time and it would have been mandatory. But on the street, the photographer was way too close to the subjects with no mask. I realize the mask is not cool for a photography video. But given the current situation, why is Adorama choosing to be a bad example here??? This is the second video on the street with this issue.

Danny, thank you or such an uplifting video. I loved the ideas it suggested about how to make people feel comfortable quickly, and about how spontaneity can be a benefit in shooting. One request: next time, can you put the shooting info (focal length, shutter speed, etc.) for your specific images in a corner of the frame? I know all of our numbers will be different based on the situation, but that info would be great to know. Thanks again!
