Street Talk: Coronation Street 14th - 18th October 2024

It's another extra-long show this week because we've got a murder mystery on our hands! Yep, Joel turned up dead in a sack on Monday's visit to Weatherfield, and there are plenty of characters with the motive and the opportunity to have done him in. Did Mason do it as payback for Joel's treatment of Betsy? Did God-fearing Dee-Dee go Old Testament on his arse? Or maybe it's just what at this point seems to be the most obvious suspect, DC Kit Green. There are still plenty of clues still to be revealed in flashbacks, but we try to piece together all the evidence so far. Joel's not the only character we had to wave bye-bye to this week either, as Stu hangs up his whites and heads of for a new life in Germany - and not even Yasmeen seems that bothered by it! We've also got more drama at the Platts (with no sign of Gail!), a trip to A&E for Sam, and yet another 'the Winter-Browns are poor' story. It wasn't all gold, but on the whole, we thought it was a pretty decent week!

2:22:47 I’m sure Shona said ‘Gary and Sarah’s’ referencing the blow up mattress that Nick could’ve used instead of the sofa. Cuz Gary and Sarah used the blowup mattress in the Platt house when they didn’t have a place to live, and it was a little running joke for a couple months. Just before the Rick and Gary storyline.

As always, I enjoy your banter and take on the week's Corrie episodes. So glad Stu finally left for Germany / hopefully for good - never liked the character for some reason. Who killed Joel? Yes Gemma, Joel really is dead 😐 unfortunately. My money's on Kit which would be a shame because as much as he's a baddun' I like the character and the actor. But there you go. Oh, while we're (really not) on the subject, may I respectfully request you start calling Lisa Swain "Lisa" and not "Swain" - nobody in C.S. is called by their last name, it sounds so impersonal and not very nice either. Of course it's your channel so you set the rules, it's only a friendly and polite request. That's it for now I guess; thank you so much for these long episodes, a three-hour treat to end the weekend is not a bad thing, thanks guys!

This Joel story has been disjointed and ridiculous compared to the brilliance of the Paul story, in my opinion. Where did Bobby suddenly reappear from, for instance? Dee Dee was convinced Joel hadn't killed himself. Why persist in this theory if she'd murdered him? I think it was Swain. A bit obvious. Thank you for your great videos.
