Yeah, but they are talking about new york city. Do you not pay to drive already? Paying the state money to get your license, get your car registered, get plate's for your car. Then you have to get your car insured by an outside company. Then you have to pay for fuel for your car. They would not let you make your own combustible highly flammable fuel at your house. Bottom line, in NYC riding a bike is cheaper, faster and alot more fun than driving a car.

here you can ride a lot safer and imagine each and every kid can ride with the bike to school.. no busses needed except for those in the suburbs 10 km away ... due to tough autumn / winter season ... but children learn from pretty yyoung age to walk and ride to school - and to be proud of that.
