I accidentally hit Wilton off 47th going towards Vernon one day.. my people stayed on Gramercy.. I just was spinning the block trying to find parking. The 40s had about 400 people outside, block sowed up something serious. Had to drive about 4 mph squeezing through. That was some crazy energy to wiggle through lol.

Was raised in the 50"s but my family was from the Leimert Park district and also schooled in the area. We would run the avenues during the day and then the streets at night, the Best of Both Worlds. South Central has always been a dangerous place but if you kept your head on a swivel the grimiest neighborhoods were maneuverable. 40 BUS STOP KIDS.

I grew up in Leimert Park form 83-88. Leimert Park was not a 40s stronghold at the time, especially west of Leimert Park Blvd. In the Aves, East of Arlington and Vernon is where they were strong in the 80s
