The only alloy heads that were available were from ZZP in the US and unfortunately they didn't sell enough to keep producing them. I went 8.80@160 with the factory iron heads, they are capable but they have thin weak decks on them. Oring and receiver groove helps. Good to see the ol v6 back.

That's pretty impressive. I don't think we'll match those numbers. It would be nice if someone made good heads for them.

I did a 4lt stroker on my 1993 VR (Buick V6) along with a twin turbo kit, get the gear out of the USA. Pumped out a lazy 550 odd rwhp, and was a great little cruiser; im a Ford man, but have always had a soft spot for a VR with the Buick V6

I really like to see you guys get this thing engineered for the supercharger. It wouldn't be that hard, and it would legitimise the car. Take your viewers through the process to show that it isn't that hard. It's more about the third party and insurance if something were to go wrong. This is by far one of my favourite cars that you guys play with.

The V6 Market is a hit and miss unfortunately but with the cost of V8s now its something that will grow. there's a number of people that want heads including ourselves. There was going to be a run done by a mob in Florida but that died. -2 would be a best start for that cam. I'm happy for you to test a TVS2650 prototype we've been working on before you go turbo.

Please Scotty ask the bean counters at Street Machine to let the moths out of their wallet and buy some proper crankshaft sockets. A shifter has it uses, but turning crankshafts should not be one of them. It knocks the woodruff key / crank around too much, regardless of how careful you are.
@steven4479956 минут бұрын
Have you considered twin charging it? Feed the turbo into the supercharger and you can have a larger pulley as the turbo does a lot of the work and the supercharger helps get it going.
@Low76026 минут бұрын
Supercharger isn't big enough.
@steven447993 минут бұрын
that doesn’t matter when the turbo is feeding into the supercharger, the supercharger increases the pressure as a fixed ratio, if you put boost infront of it, it increases that boost and allows the supercharger to move more air than it would otherwise be able to.

I hope this is a new style ctank thats unreleased. The stroker cranks are known for snapping at the 500hp area and 7000rpm area where as stock cranks have gone 1000hp+ and 8000+rpm. Keen to see this build happen tho! Just hoping this wont become like the timing chain issue for you 😉

@@RhysK94 am I the only one that's found the stock rods journals are never round once untorqued ? The price to resize them wasn't worth not replacing them especially by the time you add arp hardware? I've don't 5 or 6 of them and always found multiple to be oval lol.

No one really wants to build a super Holden V6. Yeah i know it’s different. But you gotta get so many parts made or sourced from somewhere. That’s why people put LS or Barra engines in Holdens. The BARRAs have more power than the L67 anyway. But it’s different to see
@Low76023 минут бұрын
Kind of. Given the engineering required for the Barra and extra front weight the 3.8 is worth the effort. Might as well put an atlas 4200 in.
@anthonywhelan83733 сағат бұрын
Scotty it won’t make much more power but it will make the power a lot earlier than the smaller capacity
