Could see it at several times in the paint episode and if you used general sense you could work out that it would be a similar colour to the lift due to the shading

Nice work. It sure as fk does look like a Brock Blue Meanie. I can see potential and a likely result, but I didn't actually [see] that seven second pass... The story does sorta show how much work and time and money and effort it takes, to make and run this kind of car. As an observer, no experience with this kind of thing, it looks like the car has most of what it needs but it's not hooking up and launching. That and the fact it wants to spool up and smoke the tyres out to some place about 100 m down the track. It looks like you need some clever tune in that flash Aussie engine management system, make it get boost early but limit how much. You can't run traction control at the drag strip, but you need something that's kinda doing that job. With a naturally aspirated engine, and 400hp, you can reasonably say that's the driver's job, and what sort of wanker is he if he can't drive? But when you're talking a turbo V8 and 2,ooo hp plus, it all sorta happens a bit faster than that... If you can get the weight on the rear tyres, they will hook up, but to get the weight on them you need the power going through them already... Neither the chicken nor the egg is there yet. ... 1/2 hour later ... I would experiment with a couple of body builder's plates, about 40 kg, and I'd bolt them under the boot lid. You want them high up and well back. A car like this should be fighting wheel-stand, it should need wheelie bars, but what you're seeing, is wheel-spin. The ultimate answer is probably moving the engine and tranny back a few inches, but checking if that's the problem can be done with free weights... In fact, just bolt a wheelie bar onto it, and the weight of the bar itself might make the difference... Set the height so the front wheels are pretty much an inch off the ground before the bar touches down...

Great build guys, Dont really agree with the Brock scheme, could have been a little more creative in that department. But impressive passes for the first time down the quarter. You will iron the bugs out in due course and sevens are defiantly on the horizon. But you shouldn't claim it until you run it. Well done nevertheless.

Mate the blue meanie is an Australian icon. Your opinion is some what retarded. Bloke ran a 8.1 @ 179mph with shit 60foot. That makes the car a 7 sec car just not getting it to the ground atm (first meet btw) . When did he say he ran a 7?

So Street Machine magazine is full of shit? It says on the cover it's a 2000hp 7 second car. You can't call it a 7 second car unless it's actually done a 7 second pass. As far as 2000hp goes, well we all saw it only made 1350hp on the hub dyno. You can't call it a 2000hp car until you have a dyno sheet proving the 2000hp claim.

Nice effort with the car, well done. You wanna body kit your car then by all means go for your life. But is it just me that finds it's a tad cringe worthy and sacrilegious to follow on with decals? Many a year ago when given my p plates I did what you could do at that age in '98 and placed a wgr low spoiler full body kit on my 6 month old '97 champagne exec, had the mirrors and door handles color coded, left the lion on and removed the rest of the badges, changed to clear side blinkers, took her to pedders, slotted some 17's under it and then did the air intake and full zorst from headers to tips and put a nice stereo in it. Didn't for one minute consider putting the wgr decals on cause at the end of the day it wasn't a wgr. fucking wish it had of been of course but the no v8 p plate law fucked any possibility of that. Since then ive had a couple of brand new v8 ss ute and sedan variants and visited the dark side with a cpl of wrx's but NOTHING has ever matched the joys and memories that the wgr mock up gave me for those couple of years back in the day, fuck...getting a bit misty eyed reminiscing back to what practically half a lifetime ago so far now. Back when cobbers were the size of ya thumb and a pack of pj gold durries was about $10, fuck yeah!
@sydneycbr64667 жыл бұрын
The no V8s for P platers didn't come in until way after 1998, mate.
@yeahnah72207 жыл бұрын
Ok, so I simplified it a bit mate. A VS SS was over the power to weight ratio that was legislated at the time. From memory you could get away with it in a Statesman or Caprice due to the extra 300-400kg.
