Why is the landlord asking for the rent 2 days before it's due? If the rent is to be paid in 2 days, then wait til then, before asking for it. And if there is a 5 day grace period, then wait til the 5 days are up. After which, you can serve them with a pay or quit notice. Because for now, the law is on the tenants side.
