In prison, dinner was always a big thing. We had a pasta course and then we had a meat or fish. Paulie did the prep work. He was doing a year for contempt, and he had this wonderful system for doing the garlic. He used a razor, and he used to slice it so thin that he used to liquefy in the pan with just a little oil. It was a very good system.

The entire set from debut, was amazing! In fact, I've actually made a Jund Sacrifice deck for Standard on MTG Arena, that contains Ziatora, after the successful Rakdos Anvil builds, from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty; thanks to some wildcards that I've preserved over time. In fact, I've actually found an infinite combo, using Ziatora and Oni-Cult Anvil, that usually triggers at the end of your turn! This combo should also enhance with anything that involves creating artifact tokens, then sacrificing them afterward; such as those of treasure tokens for example!

Mm. Solid 6/10 in the Set Trailer Power Rankings (tm). Shows off the plane and people in some interesting ways, but it doesn’t build up energy and excitement the way, say, Amonkhet did. And it doesn’t have the same worldbuilding detail as the Ixalan trailer (or, for a more recent comparison, midnight hunt) It didn’t hook me in any more than I would have been just from the concept, and there wasn’t really any elaboration or expansion on the appeal or motives of the five families, so they kind of ended up all blending together. Also docking points for, again, there being next to no mention of the return of the angels, when that’s apparently a massive part of the set. If you bill a setting as “a world ruled by demons where angels have been missing”, it’s weird to see that there are more angels in the set than demons. Yes, I understand there was a communication error- you all meant to say that only the heads of the crime families were demons, not the families in general. And I understand this set was never supposed to be billed as the “set with no angels”. But there’s a reason those misunderstandings happened, and I really think WOTC should consider & reexamine how they’re marketing these things going forward. I don’t know; I mean, I get that, in the new block-less system where every set has to stand on its own, it’s hard to tell nuanced stories that involve major shifts in the setting, but *still*. Neon Dynasty and Kaldheim, while far from perfect, do show that that’s at least somewhat achievable. In this case, it very much feels like we were shown one thing, then got another with very little fanfare. There’s also the fact that the most interesting (IMO) faction in the set, the Riveteers, got next to no appearances in the story, and were the only one of the families to not receive a story focused on them. A Jund-identity corrupt union led by a draconian demon? That’s… well, that could be interesting if it were handled well, but it 100% was not, and in the end it just came across as mindless union-hate with no real examination of how or why they became corrupted… Idk, I’m rambling incoherently at this point. It happens, that’s ADHD brain for you. I guess my overall point is just, I really *wanted* to like this trailer, and this setting, and this story, but there were a lot of fumbles that keep my overall thoughts on it pretty down.

@@mtg i definitely enjoy key story moments from the story shown on the trailer to show us what this set is about. Trailers like Theros and Takir were great but that were also back when you had blocks so you had time to build up stories for the plane unlike now where everything is just happening way too fast which is a bummer. Instead of the music that you have been doing - which is nice, don't get me wrong, maybe you could focus on smaller trailers for your sets to tie in the story as it's happening both on the cards and the story articles.

Easily my favorite set since Amonkhet. Also if any of you watching this trailer haven't checked out the official New Capenna Soundtrack, highly recommend it. Some pretty good tracks in there and I think they did even better than the Kamigawa Soundtrack.
