I sort of wish Survival mode had a cap at level 50 where you encounter the "last level" with a SOR4 HD version of Mr. X. It makes sense logically since it is Mr. X's brain. That would've been much better imo instead of the Blitz-infested mess the mode turns into after level 35-ish.

That may be true although level 50 seems like a high bar already. If Anthopants is having trouble reaching level 50, then its safe to say 95% of SOR player base has PB around 35 - 45.

I made it to 49 with Cherry but man I felt like it got stupid brutal after level 33. Dude I could hear the resignation in your voice at 18:33. Damn the arenas.☠

You were not low in health, it went from almost full to nothing in one hit... I think the game just refuses to let you progress beyond a certain point...

@@Anthopants I noticed this survival has a lot of weapon perks, maybe a weapon build is more suitable. I am playing it now, 50% weapon durability, 70% lightning weapon damage propagation and all this around level 20. Of course it is annoying when you can't get a weapon xD

I play weapon build Max2. He does pretty good, PB at 37. One time I got a Kobo ally and he dropped pipes for me so I always had a weapon. Pretty sure I can go 40+ with it :)

While I'm having a lot of fun with the survival mode, I can't help but think it always ends up with the player spamming his blitz attack, hoping life leech will save the day. I would have hoped something more... I don't know, tactical? Less frantic maybe? And not a slaughterfest where you gotta survive through 500 enhanced mobs by spamming the same attack for 5 minutes.

That's why I mix it up with Max2 Weapon Build and Roo. I get tired of the blitz spam. Still I'd like to take Max4 to 50+ :)

I think these one or almost one shots are very cheap for a time consuming mode like this. I watched a vídeo were a guy pretty good at the game was in a very advanced stage and didn't even see what killed him in the middle of that mess (watching the vídeo we could see that it was Donovan that threw a weapon at him and killed him with one shot) and with me there was this one time where a group of red Divas appeared and one of them instantly drained my entire health in a blink of and eye with her Chun-li style "flash kick". Very frustrating. And what players can do is to choose their favorite character and spam the best attacks (special and blitz) until they run out of luck and die like this. That is all I see the best players doing, special and blitz, boring and repetitive and it's not their fault. This survival was fun at the beggining but I'm already losing the entusiasm to play it. Many times it feels like a waste of time and it's getting boring and annoying fast.

That's why I've been messing around with Max2 Weapon Build. It adds a challenge and I can't just blitz or use a couple attacks to get through :)

Yeah, and I hear you too. That especially since there's not a real huge incentive to keep playing this mode once you both advanced past Level 30 (while earning the trophy for doing so in the process), along with after you already unlocked all of the alternate attacks in the process. The only true purpose it has from that point on is for simply killing time, while trying to improve on your personal best, pretty much also. I'm glad I got this which was well worth it for the extras, but still though.

ya same. I only played survival mode a couple days, got to level 33 and never played again. It just turns into a blitz spam. I really like the training and mania plus. Still a great dlc.

@@jamesjeffries4408 Definitely, and I will still play it ever now and then, especially since I do want to make sure I get my money's worth with it. It's also good that I can now do so just for fun, and to pass the time when I want to do something quick, since I accomplished everything I technically needed to do with the game now also.

Weirdly although survival ultimately turns into blitz spam, I still like it a lot, I found it to be amusing racking high combos and beating bad guys, the brutality and absurdness of the levels sometimes bring a smile to me (sometimes also frustration), although it’s indeed very repetitive, and I the soundtracks are awesome :)

dude that ending round was kind of unfair having the patience for it its tough after level 30 i know that my man floyd is one of the worst characters to get through but i love playing as him, i love shiva and max as well but i will like to have a balance patch soon enough

Following the weapon build guid with streets 4 max I got to level 37 I think with max it has to be weapons and stars based

@@Anthopants Normal Kobo at the top of stage telepathically slowly levitated a knife and flung it at you, and you in a corner having just defeated green sword kobo had a second to pick up a nagari and threw it at the enemy in front of you not seeing a knife already heading toward you the telepathic knife hit took roughly 70% of your bar putting you in danger and you got hit into the electric fence taking the last bit of your health (3-5%). As you said, in this mode gotta probably spam blitz more and get in the middle of the stage/fray with your electric effect to stun any nearby the group of tough enemies rather than throw a weapon from the corner for a second, it was a surprise how much health the telepathically thrown knife hit took, and too much going on onscreen. Great run nonetheless, thanks for sharing the great run and teaching rookies like me.

@@Ambrooks83 Thanks for figuring that one out. I thought I must have been low on health or something. You don't normally take so much damage from telepathic weapons so I don't know what happened with that one. In SoR2 there's a glitch where if you take damage from two enemies at once it'll drain you in a split second. Might be something like that, taking damage from two sources at the same time :)

I know that i'm playing max but i don't feel like i am weak moves very slow only time max is at his best is when you have so many perks until then your weak moves set for him is ok here and there but makes no since but when the computer has control of him he is great weird.

@@Anthopants 40% more points and similar points up Look at very high combos with this perk. You'll notice when you would collect the points they don't appear on screen. If you look at your point total you'll see the total go down instead of up

This survival mode seems really boring on higher levels. All those enemies, special effects and that goddamn damage. That telepatic knife dealt 60%+ damage to you, thats borked. And that necessary blitz spam is really annoying.
