In Streets of Red - Devil's Dare Deluxe, the only thing scarier than being eaten alive is running out of quarters! A permadeath multiplayer horror beat'em up that bestows players with the skills of retro gaming heroes in a fight against a legion of undead monstrosities.
Streets of Red was designed to be played over and over again, with each run offering up the potential for new content. Six unique playable characters and an ever-growing level selection work to keep the gameplay from getting old and rotten, while the easy to learn but hard to master combat system allows for plenty of depth.
With every kill, you earn cash that can be spent on upgrades, or to revive yourself when you die. You better learn how to make cash fast and spend it smart in Streets of Red because when you're dead, your save data dies with you. The chills, thrills, bills, and opportunity to learn new skills here won't stop until every street runs red with blood! Are you up for the challenge of an anti-lifetime?

Yeah, really good review. This looks very cool! Earliest gaming memory was a physical pong console that plugged into the TV and had two little twiddly knobs to move the paddle. It was great!

This game is so fun nostalgia is Thru the roof lol. Can’t wait to play this with my friends. The only thing missing from this besides being able to jump and use items is online coop. Would be cool to see that added in a update. But for what I paid was like 6 bucks US with sale worth every penny! Great review.

Looks a lot like 99vidas which is the PS Plus game of the month for vita/PS4 but would still pick this up too. Nice of them to put it on sale. Also with the TakeOver being announced for the switch last year which is even more like SoR than this, looks to really be a great console for beat em up lovers.

99 Vidas is an incredible game. I love it. There's a free demo of it, on switch at least, if people wanna try before they buy. It's absolutely gorgeous to look at, some of the best pixel art I've ever seen, and the gameplay is some of the best beat em up gameplay I've ever tried. It's seriously great. More people should know about it, cos it was developed by a small indie developer company in Brazil. So I try to get the word out about it I originally bought it because the pixel art looks SO close to the Scott Pilgrim beat em up. Like it's clearly at least in part inspired by the Scott pilgrim game. Back when I bought 99 Vidas, it seemed like the Scott pilgrim game was lost media, it'd never get re-released. Well now the Scott pilgrim game HAS been released again for modern consoles. I bought it on Switch the day it came out. But honestly, having played and beaten both now, 99 Vidas is actually better than Scott Pilgrim. Kinda funny really, I only bought it because it's clearly a homage to Scott pilgrim, then I finally get to play Scott pilgrim the beat em up, and it's not as good as the one I bought before. They're both great games mind you. I'm just being nitpicky. I think the Scott pilgrim game suffers a bit from repetition. Which is to be expected in a beat em up. But 99 Vidas doesn't have that problem. It's always switching things up So give the demo of 99 Vidas a try, people reading this comment. See if you like it. I played the demo for 10 minutes and then immediately went and bought the full game, cos it left such a good impression on me

I have to admit, I didn't find the start over at death thing a problem. Mainly because you seem to collect enough money to have a good three or four lives and still have enough to buy upgrades as long as you use the fatality move. It's not $40. It's about $9. Plus this game is on the PS4 and Xbox One too. It's a retro inspired game.
