what is the difference between applying torsion only and applying a couple of force because in both cases we achieve pure torsion and no bending moment, transverse shear ??? Explain Please

Hi sir, Lectures are as wonderful as it always is. I have a doubt in the assumptions given, namely 5th one. shouldn't the torque be uniform through out the shaft? as there is no other way around? so is it necessary to mention it rather than being an obvious case? looking forward to your reply😀

Ring ko beech se kaat kar straight krdo to rectangular banjaega.. L = 2pi.r B= dr Area = L x B = 2pi.r.dr
@shubhamwr
@shubhamwr 2 жыл бұрын
What ashish has said is one valid logic. If u want to go deeper and understand actual functionality, then it's still simple: U know as ring is circular it's area should be π(ro^2-ri^2) where ro and ri is outer and inner radius of ring. Now what he has taken is circumference multiplied by thickness: 2πr.dr Just integrate it to get area with limits. After integrating: 2*π*(r^2/2) = π(r^2) Put ro and ri as limit for r and u will get exactly same answer: π(ro^2-ri^2) Hope it helped.
