Strengthening Community Voices to Demand Fiscal Transparency through Creative Media

The increasing debt portfolio has translated to looming unemployment amidst job cuts as
organizations downsize to protect their investments and profits due to inflation and high
production costs. Hundreds of Kenyans have taken to the streets in the recent past to protest against the increasing debt portfolio, high taxes and unsustainable cost of living as the price of basic commodities and food items has doubled resulting in despair as many Kenyans cannot put food on the table.
It is imperative that citizens are empowered to understand tax justice, budget- making processes and fiscal transparency.
Interrogating tax inequalities through citizenry participation is therefore crucial.
