The intro just gets me every time. The dead pan delivery. The polite “thanks for having me”. It just gets me.

I am the guy that does the "my oatmeal has easily measurable number of added protein grams" in it, but it is strategic - I make sure I hit at least 1g/kg of the things I think of as protein sources and are easy to keep a rough score of in my head, and then trust the oats and flax and veggies, etc to make up the .6 to 2. It helps me track without getting obsessive.

I'm a big fan of when you guys promote shorter topics and episodes, and then Eric talks for 1h 30mins straight. On one topic inside an episode. Also Eric's beard looks good, just the 5 pm stubble already looks nice on Eric's face. Would be interesting to see the beard match the hair length. But rest at ease, you don't need all the beard grooming stuff until/unless your beard is so long that either it wildly curls in stupid directions and/or your skin doesn't approve not being able to breathe freely. For me it's both, I need the beard soap to make it not look like a bird's nest, and I need a hard brush to rub the dead skin and then use beard oil to moisturize the skin (and help beard stay in shape). Apparently I have a lot to say when it comes to body hair. I absolutely agree with Greg about how you don't need to know about conditioner if your hair isn't actually long. The biggest reason for me to use conditioner is that my hair will get tangled like mad and I end up ripping them off when brushing. It also helps becoming like a static electricity machine in the winter and hair getting meshed up over night in bed. Also it smells decent. And even more, there's also difference between regular conditioners and the spray conditioners. Recently my mother finally got it through to me to try a spray conditioner and it does help in a different way as well. But like Greg I shampoo with Head&Shoulders, because they just have good stuff for scalp, especially bad skin like mine that both gets greasy but dry. And I also tend to use shower gels that all claim to be for hair, body and face and probably for body parts that aren't even invented yet. Have you guys paid attention to how zero shower products for women claim that? My assumption is that it's 100% about how male skin is usually more rough and rugged, and you can use the same stuff for all of it. However if you have a skin like your average women, you'll quickly learn that your strong sports shower gel is absolutely not for your face.

This was super informative. Wonder if the Vegan blends that boost the amino profile to match animal protein are worth the hype? Definitely works for me. And most important , stomach doesn't get jacked up at all.

The visualization of common plant protein sources was fantastic btw. The group B would pose a problem personally with IBS, which is why I'm leaning more towards meat and dairy, but A and C groups are already big parts of my daily meals. Like my daily meals are often 4/6 items in both A and C groups. Just my breakfast is already oatmeal and three types of seeds. And dinner is always rice or pasta, bread has at least wheat or wheat and rye. Makes me think protein in plant based diets is not that big of an issue, maybe just the amount of food consumed for the protein goals.

As a small note: the digestibility of egg(-white) protein increases that much because of the protease-inhibitors which are found in the whites. They get degraded with heat. For meat/milk-proteins, the effect is way smaller (if present at all; I have seen conflicting evidence about that).

Regarding the study comparing low/high load I would just assume that one group benefitted from progressive overload (the one starting with high reps) over the full 2x12 weeks, while the other group which started with high load only benefitted from progressive overload for the first 12 weeks after which they basically just did a deload, where I would indeed expect zero gains. I can't see the full text, so question: did they have individuals who in the group which started with high load who had better progress during the 2nd 12 week period? Only that would really surprise me. Does the study also say how many sets had been done during each phase? If not, there could also just have been a large disbalance in total volume. 30 reps is 3x volume of 10 rep sets for the same number of sets after all. Without these informations I'd not dare to draw any conclusion from that study.

I hate watching a clip and then tuning into the podcast and hearing the same clip. Please just release podcasts first it's so annoying. Maybe if your clips were like 10 minutes long it would be fine but they go for like half an hour so I gotta work out how to skip around during the episode. Guys, please. I can see the vision but this ain't it.
