Stress is killing you - a cinematic poem

Stress is an abstract concept. One definition is 'how we react when feeling under pressure or threatened.' It's easy to forget that 'being threatened' is more than just a physical attack. While the external world can be stressful, it's how one chooses to react and interact with the world that affects the level of stress they experience.
If that really is true, then surely we pose the greatest threat to ourselves the moment we decide how we're going to interact with our environment. Some days are more difficult than others for me, but I have learned not to suffer the suffering itself -- if I'm feeling stressed or down, then I acknowledge, accept and allow that feeling, but I don't ever feel bad for having it. At least, in theory.
'The Far Reaches' is my shortest film (cinematic poem) on the channel and the one I've struggled with the most. I held back from releasing it for over a year because on the surface, to me, it feels like a cheap motivational video. Only with time and distance have I allowed myself to hear the words and not just watch the performance, which I was never comfortable with until now.
Monolith was originally started as a place to be creative, but it's already become so much more than that. As I continue to work on myself, becoming more aware of my thoughts and feelings, the channel will continue to change too. I owe that change to a number of things in my life, but one of them is weekly therapy sessions via BetterHelp (an online platform for finding a therapist suitable for you). 'The Far Reaches' was shot on a Sony FX3 in my apartment in Berlin, Germany. The film was edited and graded using a M1 MacBook and Final Cut Pro with sound effects and music from Epidemic Sound. The final grade was achieved with the mind-blowingly powerful film emulation plugin from Dehancer (use the code 'MONOLITH' for 10% off).
