Damocles doesn't work with the tainted keeper.. None of the items gets duplicated because they all cost money (and it doesn't double shop stuff) And if you take damage the sword doesn't turn bloody, so I think it just doesn't work at all for tainted keeper. At least of 12/12/2021 it was like that on my last run.

@@Ender41948 saturnus itself is not a problem but i get it so often and some item combos do not work at all with it (the circling tears rely on range so tough luck with proptosis). Other then the strong room opener Saturnus is just a mediocre protection item for bullet hell bosses, it will still let fast moving or directly approaching projectiles pass

@@GaudyGabriev I've actually enjoyed tainted Eve quite a lot: she is a risky character, but her runs can quickly go from struggling to absolutely broken. I still don't know how to do boss rush and greed mode with her. Jacob and Esau though...

@@silverish9081 I've just tried 2 or 3 times with her by now. Just have to get some runs in I guess. Tainted forgotten is slightly less fucking annoying than it looks like, although most items being utterly useless with him is... Well let's say they didn't seem to think that one through too much. Still, I got boss rush, mega satan, greedier and hush/delirium with him in like 10 tries total, not bad at all. Jacob and Esau thoguh... Christ. The normal version is bad enough after years of muscle memory training to dodge with 1 character, but at least you get to cheese angel rooms. But tainted... For fucks sake Ed. At least I've completed both losts already. Everything else was about as expected (so farily easy actually. Hell I got Dogma and Mother with regular lost in 3 runs. Getting rock bottom and star of bethlehem in my very last completion run with the lost was funny), but greedier with tainted lost took me... I don't even want to think about it.

...If you think Damo is a bad item I am sorry but you need to have your head examined. He took it at a bad time but it pulls through special pools lightning fast to get instawin items like Wafer, on top of the general boosts and making transformations way easier to assemble.

@@mmmmyes64 That's not how good/bad items work you can win the game with no items if your good enough. It has something to do with the fact that the vast majority of the player base is gonna get hit at least once throughout the run. Meaning having a 4 percent chance every minute to just insta die is the definition of a bad item. Yes, you can get great items but not items that will completely hinder you from taking damage. Being a bad player has nothing to do with how good an item is it has something to do with how well you can use it. You having a chance to insta die from getting hit once seems like the most brainless risk as the reward doesn't nearly compensate for instant death.

Damocles is really good for the chest. Just hold it until entering and pop it. 8 items instead of 4 and a bunch more from the bosses

Just a note about Damocles, you can use any sort of HARD s to avoid the death, such as gnawed leaf or unicorn horn, but not something like bait and switch or how to jump. Also, if you die and have an extra life you will respawn, that being said, respawning before Damocles procs will NOT reset the activation of it, so you still could have died as Judas if it decided to proc even if you did not take damage after respawning. Also, if Damocles does fall, whether you it or respawn after, the item does not take effect anymore, aka no more double items.

Oh well great timing: I just finished a Tainted Keeper run on Hard Mode where I was able to beat Boss Rush, Hush, Satan, The Lamb, Mega Satan and Delirium all thanks to the surprising synergy of Haemolacria and Tech X, with a Swallow Penny and a very generous Broken Stopwatch. Rest of the day was full of resets and frustrating failures with other characters, so if anyone ever feels frustrated, always remember that luck will at some point be on your side.

Damocles can be avoided with actually a ton of items like Gnawed Leaf and some other items that can make Isaac immune. I would list them down, but there is a video by someone trying strats and telling you which items *can* and *cannot* save Isaac from Damocles.

Hutts and everyone keep saying that once you get a planitaurm you can't get anymore, but what happens is the chance to get a second is stuck at 1% unless you have the telescope lens which brings it to 15%? (Magic ball and such can't effect anything after the first, only the lens) He's doing it correctly by skipping items rooms for the first but it's not impossible to get a second one like everyone seems to be saying. I am pretty confident saying this but feel free to prove me wrong (If you read this Hutts I want to say thank you for being cool, I hope you get this information)

I'm glad you see the appeal of Tainted Keeper he's definitely one of my favorite Tainted Characters Not that he has a huge competition... Because so many Tainted characters are absolute garbage or in the best hand, frustrating and tedious. But yeah, Tainted Keeper is amazing Also, Damocles can heck off. The only time I find it viable is when I'm playing Tainted Lost. Without the Birthright. Because when I had the Birthright, I died, respawned, and then damocles killed me for the second time. Because the damage you take counts for damocles even if you die and use up the extra life. And what's best, that was the only damage I took and damocles killed me on the next floor, after like, 3 minutes of me using an extra life. So that's great.

4:15 hutts that is not how planetariums work, after you get 1 the chance stays at a flat 1%. the only way to increase the chance after you get one is with telescope lens magic 8 ball doesn't count.
