What do you think is a good safety factor when computing the stresses aplied on wooden structures . how much should we add to it if the structure is designed for dynamic loads ? And how much (ex +1.2) for fatigue stresses ? Thanks in advance

Brittle materials dnt flow i.e, dnt deform plastically,after limit of prop.they break whereas in ductile materials,plastic defirmation takes place before fracture

Sir actually my confusion is that because of stress changes to strain then why should be taken stress in Ydirection and strain inxdiretion . I think the graph should be taken in stress in xdirection and strain in Ydirection according mathematics .please understand to me because due to stress change in strain
