You do get some good international trips from MIA, you should stay there. It's an easy commute for you as well. I watch other FA channels who commute and it seems stressful. You'd either be sleeping in the crew lounge, getting a hotel or a crash pad.

Dear Francesco, give it a very good thought! Reserve could by stressful and boring, but commuting could be worst. If you're transfering basis and start commuting you will be giving up your peace of mind and your work life balance! MIA is your home, it is where you have your beautiful family and your handsome John!!! Don't give up what you have built for something else you'll regret sooner or later. I'm hard broken just listen that you are thinking about transfering basis!!! Go to whatever city if you and John are going together if not stay where you are now. Living in a crashpad could not be compered to the confy of your own place with your love ones. I live in SJO but years ago I worked for EA & AA, MIA, for me is home away from home for many reasons. And I'll never give up the blessings of living with my partner or love ones because of my job, it's not worth it. Hope this give you some light, at the end you'll be making your own decision, give it a very good thought!!! I follow FA's & Pilots that are not blessed living in their base and they have to face a lot of troubles!!!!

Thank you for sharing. I am glad you two with the little ones are doing well. Hahaha! You made me laugh about crew scheduling. Well, the London trip would have been nice but you did not go. Then your second trip would have been ok but still not going anywhere. Crazy as it was but at least you were ready to go anywhere! But I am glad you got a trip on your one day available. When I use to be on airport stand-by, I use to hate walking from our base area all the way back over to concourse "B" at our O'Hare International Airport. Those were some long walks that I use to do slowly normal.!! You enjoy being off for two days.

And as for inquiring about changing your base that is something that you should think about because it is a big change but you have to do what feels right in your heart. I like the outfits from Stitch Fit I always think about the combinations they put together. A few more days and you and John are off on your cruise yayyyy and your birthday I love it. I was going to say that John looked tired today!!...Mia was soooo cute leaning back with her little white "teefers" showing!! From watching Court Too Fly she commutes and she doesn't say much but it seems to be a hassle at times...when there are delays getting in to her base and she was hoping to catch a certain flight to make it home. Also, how do you do Reserve if you were to end up in Chicago?...you said Boston didn't have Reserve?...then would you have to fly in the night before and early morning flight and pay out of pocket for your room?...do a list of the pros and cons...stay safe and hugs to John, Mia and Gio!!

Don’t do it. I’d gladly sit reserve at home over commuting for trips. Commuting sucks, esp during peak travel seasons. Then when you plan it out; your trip gets delayed and you miss your flight home. You have to sit around hours to MAYBE get of the next flight, fly two hrs, then drive home. Trust me; stay based where you live.
