For the first episode of Post-Rock guitar, we take a foray into a piece inspired by Autumn. This study makes great practice for stretching the fretting hand.

Great arpeggiated chord progression--sounds very deep, moody, and thought provoking. Nice lesson. Thanks, Corey.

sounds a bit Sonic Youth, like Candle on Daydream Nation.

Corey, is it even possible to stretch out the fretting hand so that those more difficult chords become more consistently attainable, or will it always be a struggle? I'm to the point after 5 years of struggling with certain chords, that I'm ready to go play the bass instead.

There are limits, but it's definitely possible to get more flexible to a point. Bass can involve a lot of stretches because the frets are wider.

I hate to be that guy but can I ask what gauge strings you like to use for B Standard tuning?

I had to give up playing due to my vestibular condition and migraines.

Definitely man, take good care of yourself. Think you can do more videos with these type of riffs bud? These are my favorite. Anything post rock instantly makes you feel at ease and nostalgic.
