Good job on blind siding into the driveway at that farm. Been there done that. You made it look easy driver! Man the sound of those pipes really takes me back. Awesome tractor and you keep it spotless as you should. After all, it’s your home. What’s the wheelbase on that Pete? 280 or more? Stay safe out there and keep the content coming! Also I can’t believe how stupid people are, knocking on your door etc. Well they feel like they know you from watching your videos and all but really folks, this is his home! Have some common sense! If you feel like you’re gonna just die if you don’t get to meet him, wait till you see him outside his truck first! Your momma taught you better! Later driver.

I am a local driver for a regional truck load carrier. I spend my day in a day cab picking up loaded trailers at customer locations, taking them to the yard so the OTR drivers can conveniently grab them, taking the freight to the final destinations. The OTR drivers will also bring in loaded trailers to the yard to be delivered locally, which is done by me and a few other "city drivers". I have been driving for a living since 1980, with part time experience from '76 - '80. I love driving trucks but with that said, I've never had the love of driving so bad as to want to live in a truck, so I have always been a 'local driver'. Perhaps that's why I've been able to stay married for 48 years. Your truck, however, just might change my mind. It seems so pleasing to these old eyes and ears that I can just imagine that feel and smell are the same, lacking only the taste of the 5 senses to be fully satisfied. I think I could work and live in a fine rig like yours. So now I live vicariously through your videos. Please don't stop.

yea otr and marriage usually doesn't work. Some rare cases now and then, I perfer local/regional as well. I would do otr if the money was right. If your not making good money its not worth it.

@@nonameposter378 i always made the mistake of telling them I was single, and 3 months on the road was fairly normal, 3-4 days home and they were always calling me for that "hot load" when they knew my time off made my logs believable. I don't miss that part, and these "new breed" drivers don't have a clue what we called "work"! Your job would have been our greatest desire: a regular route, known traffic and cops, actual SLEEP now and then...Heaven! Nowadays, they have it easy due to regulation and monitoring, legal weights an whatnot. We would have thought of that as a vacation! Nonetheless, we could fuel where we wanted, broker loads instead of living on party row, choose our own routes (get laid sometimes), and not get fired for any stupid little infraction so the company could put another driver through the CDL mills for the money. Scroo that.

I’m not a trucker… but I can’t help but think how it would be handy to have steerable trailer axles. Even just a few degrees just enough to keep the trailer on the same path as the truck. Just have a small toggle switch to divert the air from the sliding tandems and have a air cylinder to turn the wheels.

Enjoyed the ride with you prior to bed...that farm pickup reminded me of when I was sent to this horse-and-buggy diary. I drove a stretched anteater with a 444 Cummins and 13 speed, my best truck ever. They said no one had ever came with more than a box truck and I couldn't fit. I grabbed as much real estate as I could on my blind side, plenty of GOALs and DROPPED the wagon, went around the place and re-hooked from the other side, and jacked into the dock squared perfectly, all blind and GOAL work. The diary dock guys hated their job, argued every minute, didn't lIke loading a 102/45 near their lunch break, but did have to ask me how the hell did I get IN there...had to drop and hook again just to get out! PIA work for sure, but I did have a proud moment. Glad it wasn't raining!

That was your best video yet! I can't believe people are knocking on the door of a truck that looks somewhat like yours. It's amazing that they don't check to see if your high strung logo or your truck number are there, and when they go up to knock on the another driver's door they would notice that your name wasn't under the driver's side window and realize their mistake!

So y ea, when I was a kid, I always wanted to be a truck driver.. So when I was 22, I went and signed up at a trucker school.. Went about 3 days, and then we had the DOT physical, and I passed everything.... Except the vision test.. I am 20/20 right eye, and 20/70 left eye, and they said I failed.. I could never be a trucker.. I was so depressed.. So here I am 49, and on permanent disability for something not vision related, and I found these videos.. I've been binging them for a couple days, and you've reawakened that old dream.. Cant work, but what I did do was buy American Trucking sim, and European Trucking Sim video games, a VR headset, and a steering wheel (dont have a shifter yet, so i'm working towards that lol ) and now I can live vicariously and "Pretend" i'm trucking lol anyway all that to say I very much enjoy your videos, keep them coming!!

The door-knocking thing, something similar happened to Ron Pratt, a wrecker driver, mostly heavy tows/recovery with a 1150r rotator truck. People would call the shop to talk with him. It's a shame people like you have to tell people how to be human. You don't just go knocking on peoples doors. Especially their homes or places of employment. How can people be that rude? Thanks for the video. Really enjoyed this one. Been watching a lot of your videos. They make me happy. It's hard to find good truck driving videos like yours.
