i’m not sure if you’ll ever see this but hearing andrew’s backstory really hit me hard. I also had a teacher who I looked up to. I trusted him and saw him as a great authority figure. he believed in me and made me realize my love of writing. I even went to him when I was at a really low point. I will never forget how he cried along side me and walked to to the counselor’s office himself and made sure I got the help I deserved. but I will also never forget the pain I felt when he got arrested, nor will I forget the pain of finding out he was secretly taking pictures of me and the other girls in the dressing rooms. he betrayed me and everyone else he had an impact on. I will never really know if he was genuine with me or not, if he ever really cared. i’m still dealing with the aftermath of it all, but hearing andrew’s story was comforting. knowing that he went through something similar and knows how I feel makes me feel less alone. thank you saku, seriously.

Oh my god. I'm deeply sorry you had to go through that. I, and other people in my high school, had similar experience with our English teacher/performing arts director. He got arrested for preying on students. I was already in college at the time so that shook me to the core. Man, if only I can hug you rn 😭😭

As a survivor of sexual assault, hearing the Andrew’s story made my heart shatter and I nearly started sobbing when he stated how comfortable he was around us. I’m so happy that he finally has a slight weight lifted. I remember when I first talked about my experience to a close friend of mine, and I explained as I thought it was. That I was a favorite and I got “special” treatment because of it despite how uncomfortable it made me feel. I remember the immense relief I felt when they stated that I had a right for feeling wrong about it, how it wasn’t my fault. Thank you for shedding light on the sexual harassment men also experience, stuff like this definitely needs to be talked about more. Great to have you back Saku, keep it up!
