I was very happy when my team, Panathinaikos, signed him in 2019. He was able to score from literally anywhere. Our coach Rick Pitino did not appreciate his defense weaknesses, so he spent some time on the bench too. The 2019-2020 was cut short due to the pandemic. Jimmer could have made a bigger impact had things gone differently (no covid etc). Be well man!

What kills most great college scorers at the pro level is size (bulk) and lack of defense. If you are a defensive liability, then you must be able to get a bucket and create your own shot.

It’s interesting how JJ Barea was able to have a long and productive NBA career but Jimmer wasn’t about to stick at all

@@wraynephew6838 He was in Minnesota too, actually. It was the same with Draymond Green; he would be nothing if he was drafted by the Kings or Pistons like Jimmer. I feel if Bennett didn’t have the pressure of being the number one pick, he would have lasted longer and missed like 19-21 straight buckets. They could have gotten Victor Oladipo or drafted Giannis, but no one knew he would be great; he just got super strong. He was a skinny Chet Holmgrem coming in.

01:58 “across the globe”? Dude no one cares about NCAA college basketball outside of the US. I live in a NBA diehard country. Probably the biggest outside of the US. And I’d say only less than 1% of NBA fans out here care about NCAA college basketball. We only look up who are the top players from NCAA once the NBA draft is coming up. I actually only learned about Fredette during the draft itself. I’m surprised at how Americans think non-Americans obsess about everything that happens in the US. We don’t. I came upon the same observation about the NFL. From comments on social media during Super Bowl, I realize that Americans think that American Football is so huge all over the world. It’s not.

Dude gets a couple minutes in the NBA. He plays the whole time in the CBA. If you're not a starter or roleplayer it's kind of hard to stay in the NBA. You only get a couple minutes to prove yourself and if you can't do that you're done.
@manuelayala926 Жыл бұрын
Maybe it was too much pressure for him… in college he was a big fish in a small pond.. In the nba pretty much 95% of the other pg’s are already way better than him… He wasn’t used to that… then going over seas the competition wasnt as skillful. Thus he was able to destroy them with ease.

He just had a lower ceiling than other players. Players who he spanked in college ended up becoming way better in the long run. He pretty much peaked in college.
