I legit did a double-take when I saw that waffle. I was like "is that kawali on waffle?!" A Filipino play on chicken and waffles. That's amazing! Also, the white bits are either buko or macapuno (young coconut) and the brown thing isn't gravy. It either Mang Tomas (Filipino liver sauce) for the lechon kawali or it could be sweet like latik (coconut caramel). Even after all these years of watching Mikey, I'm still amazed at the amount of food he can eat.

Growing up as a kid I had giant mud crabs every week. I'm from Samoa and mud crabs are probably the tastiest crabs I could indulge in. The "guts" or as we called in "mogamoga" is some of the tastiest parts of the crab... any crab or crustacean to be exact 🥰...crab cheers to you Mikey! Lol, I'd never turn down food... Well from my other mother I would but it seems being a good cook skips people in our family. My grandmother was a great cook, my mother not at all.. She can burn chicken on the grill yet it still be raw and bloody. My sister's highest form of cooking is instant mac and cheese from a box but can burn toast and catch a pot of water on fire (Yes that actually happened once, boiled it dry and then pan caught fire) yet myself I was a cook for a number of years, my friends love my home cooked meals and begged me to teach them as well as room mates who love it and ask for advice.

The pork & ice cream thing is one of food's best-kept secrets. One of the best ice cream sundaes I ever had was at an ice cream parlor in Iowa, where they offered bacon crumbles as a substitute for peanuts. The way that salt and smoke and crunch plays off the ice cream and fruit is magical. I highly recommend it.

Love how Mikey always normalizes different parts of a crab to eat (most of my friends growing up would have cringed at this). I found you years ago through beyond science. Huge fan of your food vids when I found them. Introduced you to my parents. The video I remember recommending to them that got them hooked on your videos was one where your mom made you, your dad, and her dinner and it looked like better than restaurant quality meal for 6+. For the three of you. Every time you show your mom and her cooking it makes me wish you'd do an episode of her food.
