Gotta love how Mike almost cries with happiness to express foodie heaven. Bahn Mi is magnificent. They are hugely popular in Melbourne. First their baguettes are awesome because they put a bit of rice flour in it to make it light and crunchy. Each place makes it in their own particular way. Delicious meats, crunchy pickled veggies, fresh herbs, mayonnaise and pate with delicious sauces with a touch of fresh chilli. Vietnamese food has lots of fresh flavours and herbs. Broken rice is delicious too.

This is true for many cultures. As an African American, whose family was born in Virginia, we would eat fried chicken and waffles [Now all the rage with everyone, we always ate this from Grandmama and Great Grandmama's breakfast table ] , smothered pork chops, steak and eggs, etc. for breakfast.

I love the watching the videos where he travels to Southeast Asia. I’m Vietnamese, Lao, and Thai so I appreciate that he is highlighting the cuisine I grew up eating. Vietnamese street food nowadays is mostly not as good as you think. Vendors used cheap or low price materials/ meat to keep the price down and make greater benefit out of it. So, customers end up consumed outdated meat/ seafood with lots of chemicals to keep it looks fresh. Well, not all of them like that but it's scary a lot

Living in Austria you have like not even a handful of staple dishes every restaurant offers, most of the times tasting bland and/or outright bad and most "asian" restaurants serve dishes which always taste the same no matter where or what you eat! $1 banh mi has to be one of the biggest things I missed about Vietnam. Here in the states; the same banh mi, which in my opinion tastes sub par, runs me about $5.50 to $6.50.

A. Leigh It's a science thing. If you eat a ton of food you put a lot of glucose into your system. Your body wants glucose and overnight all that glucose is lost, so you end up in the morning being very hungry despite eating a ton.
