I'd love to see these videos but extended into proper laning in the midlane because for some reason I feel like its a bit more difficult to apply these strategies in mid. Also kudos on how high quality and polished your videos are. Definitely a hidden gem
@striderwildrift2 жыл бұрын
It’s possible in mid but it’s less affective because the lane is shorter. In mid lane, you want to keep the wave closer to your tower. Wait for the enemy to slow push or fast push and then thin down their wave until 1 minion remains, and hold that minion near your tower until your wave arrives. If you’re a roaming champion then just clear the wave and go roam
@chamsbattache78772 жыл бұрын
in mid lane you will crash the wave more often bcs u want to be as free as possible to help ganks depending on the champion ure using u might need to slow push or play for towers early for farms but all in all minion wave control is the most important thing in the game either for farms or to get hold of the enemies

Man, i just won 4 rankeds yesterday using slow push. I knew about the concept, but never really understood properly how to slow push. The way you explain things is just amazing. Thanks for making videos like this. Even if I make mistakes, i'm a better top and midlaner because of your videos.
@striderwildrift Жыл бұрын
Just be careful because if you’re against a good player who is playing a stronger lvl 1 champ, then he will fight you for the early slow push. In which case you’ll need to give it up and then play defensive

just wanted to leave a compliment. I have learned quite a lot about wild rift in the last 3 years. but even though I knew the basic Idea of slow push, freeze and crash I only learned through your videos how to apply them properly and how easy it is. I havent gotten through all your videos yet, but laning has gotten hilariously easy all of a sudden. just because I focus on minion control and punishing last hits until I see a clear kill opportunity. great voice, great break down, incredible teaching.

Thank you. I always struggling in the top lane since it's not my primary role. I'm scared of enemy laners because I scared that they know their champions better and they will outplay me lvl 1 so I back off and wait. Then they hit lvl 2 first and as a greedy fool I am I'm always trying to secure at least couple of minions and obviously I get punished for this. Now I will be smarter in lane thanks to you

Very informative video add also the fact that non-target skill doesn't aggro minions (example: garen S3) auto-attack ,spells and target skill(ex:garen S1) aggro minions. So you can use this to pull the minion wave away or closer to your tower. Of course you can body block enemy minions from crushing under your tower.

Well done Strider, again! Ie. when to drive for the early advantage and when to chill (ok garen stupid example u just spin to win early game every matchup).
@striderwildrift2 жыл бұрын
Garen is a champion that cannot really lose lane because as soon as you start losing, that’s when you chill for a beat and you just heal back up. But usually I always drive for the early advantage. If I don’t get it then I chill for a bit

A thing I do when I’m top side is to walk up to the enemy wave lvl1 before it crashes in the middle into my wave and try to drag them a little by walking into the bush. My aim is to try to make all the enemy minions focus one of my minions, so it dies fast before the enemy reaches from the leash to get the xp from it. When I pull this off I get to abuse the lvl2 power spike which the enemy never expects especially because I’m on a late game champ like trynda or jax. Only issue is that it only works sometimes while the other times it makes one of my minions die fast allowing their first minion to stay alive till they come from the leash. Do u have any solution to this ? Or is it a tactic I’m not doing properly ?

The baron lane experience: First bloods, cheater recall, perfect cs, freezes lane, good gank setups, nice trades, counterpicking champ, gapping hard. still lost because the enemy bot is 4/0 for some reason. Nice guide tho, I cant wait to see your take on the macro side of things
@striderwildrift2 жыл бұрын
Yh those bot feed games are what makes us feel useless. But about 30% of the games where the bot lanes aren’t too volatile is when you can really make the difference that wins the game. In the long run that makes enough of a difference to rank up

One issue I have with slow push is you will get frozen on for the rest of the lane, and if you try to bully your enemy at lvl 2, you will dmg the wave even more and push it onto his tower. Also some champions can just farm safely from distance. Some people give up some last hits until they get level 2 and at that point, they just freeze and you can't do anything.
@Hachi-Mi Жыл бұрын
I literally climbed all the way up to Grandmaster because of your tips thanks bruh. I win most of my early fights using a carry champ like Riven, Fiora and Irelia making me snowball very hard and win the game.

Exactly how aggressive should I be during a slow push? Unfortunately as Darius, I don’t have the movement speed buff Garen has, so I can’t just punish from anywhere lol. The hook is really nice because I can pull in an enemy, and if they attack me, they eat all of my minions! I suppose Darius isn’t really much of a turret diver until level 5, or if they are really low, so 9/10 times I just recall. Side note: I tested this out, and my hook and decimate do NOT proc minion aggro.
@striderwildrift2 жыл бұрын
You have to defend your wave during the slow push (only if you already have the minion advantage), and position to punish when they try to last hit Every champion has different strengths and you need to know how to best utilise them. No one can engage onto Darius for long because he will win with his passive. If I as garen run into Darius with my move speed at equal health, he will slow me, keep basic attacking, and when I try to run away, he pulls me back for a longer fight which he wins with his passive damage. This is why vs Darius, I like to start spin first and then I can run away at the end after silencing him. Getting a free recall is a decent option after crashing a wave. You can also; go ward or help your jungler if there’s a scuttle fight which does happen a lot. However the main advantage of the slow push is that your opponent will try to last hit and that’s when you beat them up which can lead to a kill before the wave crashes. And if they’re too low after the crash then you can dive them with your jungler. Ping your Jng for dive if he’s close, or do it yourself
@mafiaman60802 жыл бұрын
@@striderwildrift Thanks Strider! I did manage to first blood a Garen (never happened to me before, felt awesome) because he did not respect my level 2 power spike. When I do get a successful slow push, I try my best to punish the last hits, but I’m noticing that many people don’t bother. I’m sure this is because they are scared of my hook, but so far, I have not gotten anyone considerably low to dive. When I crash a big wave, should I try staying in lane and poking with spin? Or is getting a free recall/ free vision/roaming a better option for me?
@striderwildrift2 жыл бұрын
If you slow pushed correctly, you would have denied them from many last hits, giving yourself the gold advantage at the very least. When the wave crashes, if you couldn’t get them low enough, then recalling is a good idea because you’ll be back before them with a better item, and can probably freeze the wave until they arrive. Also,when you can get phage, a recall is mandatory. Last hitting a minion with phage gives 60 move speed which is more than enough to get into pull range

@striderwildrift2 жыл бұрын
Glad i could help dude. And Yh my most recent video is about playing against ranged champs. Let me know what you think if you do watch it
@zhuzhong74 Жыл бұрын
I appreciate the content. However, from your champion pool, Renekton, Malphite, Garen, they are all beefy champions that have higher armor/heal/shield so they can tank a little minion damage allowing them to win short trades inside the minion wave. How about champions that like long trades: Jax, Irelia, Sett, etc.? For example, with a slow push, Jax can't trade inside the wave, at least not without his long cool down. So he can't punish anything inside a slow push, so it's really just trading farms in a dangerous position. How do you squeeze advantage against competent players, not like the Kayle that CLEARLY pre-determined to trade her HP for last hit until she died like obviously she doesn't play top lane? How do you force them to make mistakes when they know not to greed? I ask because I was a top lane main in PC but in WR I play jungle because I feel the punishment in top lane isn't as hard, considering the extremely detailed matchup knowledge to learn. What do you think on that, e.g. gold compensation, shorter lane, predictable lv3 gank on top side, etc?
@striderwildrift Жыл бұрын
I agree. Laning phase in wr is noob friendly and it’s almost impossible to push an advantage to completely shut someone down because of how much passive xp and gold is given You’re also correct about the beefy champions I play. However I think that’s what top lane mostly is. If you’re gona play a squishy then of course you’ll have HP issues. Those champions also tend to have a weaker laning phase generally so you really shouldn’t approach laning the same way. For them it’s more about outplaying a trade and then all-inning. Irelia is great at that. Slightly disagree about jax though, think he’s a monster with a slow push and also short trades well. He can simply just stand on top of his larger wave during slow push and be threatening by holding counter strike. But overall even his laning phase is weaker than most If champs like renekton play it well then there’s really no winning against them in lane. Hold the wave near your tower. It’s easier to do in wr. Ask for jungle help. Survive and outscale

11:46 how did u get lvl 2 on 3rd minion before the enemy champ, i can't understand it
@striderwildrift2 жыл бұрын
Experience is gained passively over time even if you don’t kill minions, and if the first wave dies late enough, then you get lvl 2 from the 3rd minion instead of the 4. You can tell that the first wave died late because the next wave has already arrived

@striderwildrift2 жыл бұрын
If the enemy plays like this vs your nasus then there is not much you can do if your Jungler does not help. Try to contest some last hits at the start but if the enemy is too aggressive then do not lose too much HP for last hits. Wait for the wave to come to the tower. Last hit cannon with your skill 3 until the wave gets to tower

But if they’re at a range and they’re not moving in a straight line towards or away from you then the controls can be hard to aim with. But with enough practice it becomes just as easy. The biggest difference is if you’ve played pc lol for years, then you’ve had years of practice with mouse and keyboard controls. If you have the same practice with touch and swipe aiming then it’s just as easy
