I don't think we've ever seen a ship get this much focus and action in any Gundam series before. What Kira and Ramius ordered, like the backflip to jet into space and the drifts respectively, for the ship to do was all cuz they were confident in his piloting/helmsman skills to pull those off, otherwise they wouldn't have ordered all those actions if it wasn't Neumann helming.

That backflip to jet into space? That was essentially a “zoom climb”! IN A BATTLESHIP! He just had the main gun fire in the direction he was heading, most likely to distort the air and gravity JUST ENOUGH…so that when he buried the throttle into the floor, it went like a slingshot. AND HE DIDN’T STOP UNTIL HE BROKE ATMO AND ORBIT! Probably thinking: “Okay….WHAT ELSE you got for me?!”.

Well that's friendship aside, it was Natarle's original maneuver that Murre herself witnessed, where you dump a load of inert missiles (so they don't get locked on/tracked) lure your enemies to it, and while they are busy firing at you, activate all of them, so they cannot respond. Natarle is seen as the "pirate captain" of Seed. Every underhanded/unfair tactic in ship to ship battle comes from her.

@@danielhaire6677 The problem Natalie mentioned before: She is too soft and emotionally swayed easily. Unprofessional. She is not tough enough to carry the burden. Natalie managed to give Archangel a direct hit with basically a psychopath hijacking while she commanding. She was roughed enough to fight the guy while finish her duty. Talia on the other hand, held back in the Angel Down operation when Minerva totally owned Archangel considering that both of them had no MS coverage. Kinda proves when Archangel doesn’t have any cheating MS coverage, it is just a sitting duck. The second time, after a quick turning, Minerva targeted Archangel and announced an engagement, Talia was quick enough to command an instant hit of the "Tannhäuser" , Archangel failed to react. Only have a super plot armored Akatsuki to come to the rescue. Talia had many showcase of her exceptional leadership and determination like the Suez battle, she was having a tap on the ground before quick elevation in front of the "Tannhäuser" and the earth forces. You have to had such guts to do it. Not with her the ship might have sunk before Shinn finished the infiltration. And in the Junius Seventh’s operation, Talia commanded the ship to fire Tannhäuser while entering the atmosphere is another example of breaking rules with great determination and strong will to make a difference. Minerva could have secure its safety and stop the operation to avoid any risk but Talia was like Arthrun, Trying the best to break down the meteor. No other captain could do this.

@@zakugodofwar1005 both times were meant to push the plot of Mu saving her. Doing all the commands on a ship with so many different functions like Millennial is no small task. Lastly, I think Natale was a better commander than her in SEED. I don't understand why they have to be exposed like that when they could just use cameras and viewscreens. The entire purpose (allegedly) for submerging the entire bridge is to protect the command staff and control consoles, so why expose the captain and pilot like that!?
@2929cАй бұрын
現代戦を反映させてるのかな?
@BlackEpyonАй бұрын
@@2929c I'm not as familiar with Japanese warships, but I presume that their arrangements will be similar to western warships for purely practical reasons. Smaller vessels may have the navigation and battle functions combined into a single armoured bridge due to the lack of available space, with perhaps a small wheelhouse above the bridge for navigation during normal operations. On larger vessels, such as battleships, the navigation bridge will be exposed with large windows so they can better view the surrounding area during normal operations, but the ship will always have backup controls located elsewhere in case the navigation bridge is destroyed. Aircraft carriers have several "bridges" exposed on the superstructure, including the aircraft control centre (like the control tower at an airport), the navigation bridge, and the "flag bridge," where the admiral and their staff coordinate the fleet independently from the rest of the ship, so that the ship's command staff and the fleet staff don't get in each other's way. Battleships will also have a smaller flag bridge under the main bridge for fleet coordination. Either inside the superstructure below the navigation bridge, or further down inside the hull, will be the Combat Information Centre (CIC) or Combat Direction Centre (CDC), where the command staff commands the battle, and weapons and sensor systems are coordinated. Larger ships will sometimes have functions segregated between the CIC and CDC instead of combining them to a single room on smaller vessels. There will be no windows in the CIC/CDC, as armour to protect the command staff and control consoles is far more important. The command staff will rely on their sensors (sonar and radar) to see what is going on. On a Nimitz class super-carrier, the CIC and CDC are located under the superstructure, below the flight deck where they can be best protected. On the Iowa-class battleships (they're all museum ships now, so if you visit America, you can go and see one in person!), the CIC/CDC are located on the second level of the superstrucure (also known as "the citadel"), behind 30cm of armour! Submarines across the world will have a "flooded" navigation bridge (completely exposed to the water) on top of the conning tower, so they can more easily navigate coastal waters while they're surfaced. On American subs, this is usually a "pit" that is vented on the sides so that it drains when they surface, but Russian subs (which often home-port in northern latitudes) will have it enclosed with windows to protect them from the weather. In the Gundam Seed franchises, the overall pattern is to have a raised command dais, surrounded by the CIC in a "pit," similar to Imperial ships in Star Wars. The submerging bridge idea employed by Minerva and Millennium keeps the command staff protected during combat, but is a more mechanically complex arrangement that also produces a "void space" below the bridge when the bridge is raised. If space and weight are at a premium, then this represents wasted space during normal operations, but presumably during the Cosmic Era, they've moved beyond such material concerns. As mentioned earlier, having the captain and pilot raise back above the submerged bridge completely negates the protection afforded by the bridge submerging, which while it looks cool, is ultimately a stupid idea. Especially considering that in space, a lot of the action occurs at distances of hundreds to thousands of kilometres, which makes the sensors and viewscreens much more useful than the naked human eye (sometimes jokingly referred to as the Mark 1.0 eyeball!). I realize that we're both talking through Google Translate, so I hope this comes across okay.
It’s funny that he’s a natural, because he’s a NATURAL.

As much as I hated that the Archangel was destroyed in this movie to make room for the newcomer Millennium to really shine, I do have to admit that the Millennium is quite an awesome Gundam warship design. A design that really builds on the successes of the Archangel and the Minerva before it. It also had some bits about it that I have developed for my own Gundam SEED space warships over the years for my own Gundam SEED fanfiction. Incuding the idea of adding remote weapons to a space warship design, though my idea had them being true DRAGOON units instead of wired remote weapons. I also believe someone else had a some sort of ramming weapon for their own created space warship design several years ago, but now I cannot remember which fanfiction story that was right now. Sigh. I also loved the whole idea of Murrue copying Natarle's move at the Battle of Mendel with the proximity mode missiles. That was a nice nod to that battle and Murrue's own respect for Natarle. As for the external mobile suit catapult that was something else I saw being expanded on since the Nazca Class had similar system for its linear catapult though it wasn't with an actual deck underneath it but the arms for catapult deploying from the sides of the hangar. Always wanted SEED ships to get such a system eventually, maybe as means to allow more room in a hangar. And here we go! Thanks for that. Anyways. To end this almost lengthy comment, the Millennium was truly a great Gundam assault ship design, and something that really built on what came before her.
