Yes! Actually, experiment with using different types of string (thread, yarn, fishing line, etc) to compare how each one performs based on its different characteristics.

It did when we tried it! The fun thing about this project is to experiment with different types of cups, string materials, and lengths of string, to see which work best. Have fun trying it out, and we hope you report back with your findings!
