What is the reasoning for pulling tension on the two center mains before setting the first clamp and starting clamp? Also, curious where you purchased the carbon fiber looking wrap over the arms? Is it just tape or a heat shrink sleeve?

Hi there, so the main reason is just to check that the clamps aren't too tight or too loose on the string as it gets a little thinner once tension pulled (id already checked clamps on the anchor/starting clamp side. It's not the worst thing not to do it, but if switching to a new string it's worth doing. The carbon fibre effect on the arms is some thick vinyl which sticks on then you can use a heat gun to shape around. Well worth doing to protect the surface from scratching.

@@stringdoctor6238 Got it, thanks for the quick reply! I typically start my mains the same way, but have never pulled tension on both first before setting the clamps so I was just curious. I’m planning to purchase a Baiardo Lite soon and have seen others wrap the arms as well to protect them, but the way you did it looks really clean!

@@dukies0799 yeah, the only person I'd seen do it was Herb Baird (thanks Herb) with grips and decided to try with vinyl. I popped some pics up on the forums when I did it a year or so ago and it seemed to go down quite well

Just strung that racquet yesterday. Luckily, I have a couple clients that use this racquet and I have strung them before. Kinda a pain, but no biggie. Thanks for the awesome videos. Do you like your Bairdo lite?

My pleasure Jeff. Yes, love my Baiardo Lite, spent a long time checking out all the machines and this one suited me best.
