Where I worked this was called The Friday Song and the local radio station played it at 12:01every Friday.

Our radio station in Michigan, Z-93 called it the Friday song also. They played it every Friday at 5:00 in the 90’s. When I was in High School it really was a staple that the weekend has officially begun. Seems like most of the time when it played we were in the middle of looking for a buyer.
