Do you need to use lightweight interfacing to stabilize?

Hi Christine, That might depend on your project - what are you envisioning? I used the neckties to make a lightweight poncho that I wanted to drape loosely on the body, so I did not add any interfacing to the neckties. Nancy

Please, what can I do with the Tie Linings? The White Guts I guess you would say. I have made several Neck Tie Quilts and a lot of the innards.

hi Pamela, That's the question of the century, and I'm afraid I am equally befuddled. I've tried dyeing some, but haven't had good luck there. I once made a heavy, kind of odd coat out of necktie linings by strip quilting them into yardage and then using that pieced fabric to create an outer garment. I've also just repurposed some of the softer pieces (and the labels) into bracelets. I do not like raw edges will it work as well seaming

Hi Dyann, That's a great question! You can definitely use traditional seams (or finished French seams) with strip quilting. It will just create a different look and drape to your finished creation. Nancy
