Bro I often see champ tourney winners in diamond 2 and I once was in a champ tournament but I never actually reached champion the rank system in Tournaments is different than in Ranked, that's why you could be playing in plat tournaments altough you're diamond or, as I mentioned, champ tourneys, the same goes when you climb up the ranks the tournament rank actually has not much to do with the ranked rank, when you get to top 8 in tournaments, you gain a little mmr and when you often get to top 8, top 4, the final or win, you can climb up an entire tournament rank but when you get 32 so last place you lose some mmr and after many loses you lose an entire rank, but it's veeery unusual to play in grand champ tourneys when you're diamond, for example, unless you do not play that much competitive though you are very good, or just a smurf in comp, because the people you playing against in tourneys are usually people from the normal rank, and it's hard to play against gcs as a diamond, but there are actually many gcs that have ssl tournament winner titles and also champs with gc winners, and diamond with champs and so on
