whoohaaXL While that used to be commonplace back in the 1970s and earlier, cars have gotten SO complicated these days that many backyard mechanics can no longer do stuff like that. I remember back when to pull an engine you had 4 wires, a fuel line and throttle linkage, 2 hoses and it was out. Now? I shudder to think.....

+michael C we took an engine out of a 2004 renault megane (biggest piece of shit ive ever sat in) and it took 3 days just to get it out!!!! Then back in took a week! How rediculous

No problem to fix that Maserati head gasket for a lot less than the figure quoted here - you need to know engines and do it yourself. The out of pocket cost is the gaskets,. oil, filter and that will be about all and maybe skim the head.
