The sandblaster is an amazing tool, isn't it. It's one of my favourites! And you can use different types of media too depending on what you're doing. I use crushed glass for my big cabinet, and then three small cabinets for small parts. Glass bead for leaving a nice shiny surface, steel shot for thick crusty rust on brake calipers, steering knuckles etc, and lastly sodium bicarbonate for the extremely fragile and delicate parts with thin metal etc. The stuff you can clean is limitless, and it's really satisfying seeing the finished product!

Black wrinkle plus is one of my favorite coatings for certain areas on cars, it just looks so much better than satin/flat black. Heat Gun is an absolute MUST when using that stuff, stupid they don’t tell you that in the instructions. Another coating that would be perfect for the wheel wells is spray in bed liner since it’s so much more durable, and it’s also got a nice texture. Cerakote on the other hand is the ultimate coating for parts that are visible and need durability. I’m actually kinda jealous because painting is my personal favorite modification to literally anything I might be working on. That Vette is coming together so damn good!!! Can’t wait to see it sliding around and killing tires.

Hee, also love the beige kei truck. :) MIght want to give the interior materials a bit of TLC/cover before they crack apart in that FLorida sun though. They look like they're getting there. (Here I might mention the wonders of plastic-lawn furniture paint. Bonds right to plastic and stops deterioration. Limited colors in that dedicated stuff but you can have like black and brown and red and a nice dark blue ...also lawn furniture green and white and a yellow that's a little tougher to get right but kinda tones in well with other colors when mixed graffitti style. )

Collete, You should DEFINITELY be wearing as a minimum Natural Latex or rubber gloves, butyl gloves would be best. toluene, acetone, both will go right through Nitrile gloves and at least 2 other chemicals are pretty nasty! Be safe and you have gotten quite good at painting. Good for you on learning as much as you can about all the tools of the trade! Keep up the great work, I am looking forward to seeing you in the Vette soon!

Wow! Good progress and very propper job! Also the exhaust. One thing I noticed that bothers me: I hope you are putting heat shields under the car in the areas where the exhaust is running through. Not much distance to the body. Even standard cars from factory are equipped with that. I would strongly recommend doing that, so it will not - at least - burn the paint or something worse happening. Ask me how I know... 😉

Pro tip for hot guns, always leave them nozzle up when you stop using them. Even for short periods of time. If the heat has nowhere to go after using them, they will melt themselves inside.
