There 's something strange with Robert Glasper. In one way, each time he is there, it sounds like Glasper. You have here many briliant leaders, and finally it sounds "Glasper". That's impressive how he reign on the general ambiance. Kamasi plays like Kamasi, but it is a Kamasi Washington solo in a Glasper world. That's a certain talent. But in the meantime, sounding Glasper for me is sounding very... lounge, unexpressive, energyless. Sometimes I woud like him to bring some funk, some soul, some energy, some groove, but all sounds like we'r floating over a yoghurt.
