Noong spanish time dalawa lang po ang maitatawag na city noon ang iloilo at manila yung red color sa philippine flag ay manila ang blue ay iloilo .... queen city of the south din ang iloilo dati kaso noong after ww2 na overtake ng cebu ang iloilo ... iloilo po ang maraming first first na nagka telephone line cement road department store airline ( iloilo negros air) tinatawag din ang iloilo na the millionares row dahil maraming mayayaman dito na haciendero ng asukal dito makikita ang first branch ng bpi ang hsbc ... dito din itinayo ang first sm outside manila..... ang iloilo din ang last spanish capital sa east indies try mo puntahan ang sta. Barbara dyan ang cry of sta. Barbara ang 3 star sa flag ng pilipinas ay luzon panay mindanao kung saan ang mga 3 main island na naganap ang mga himagsikan .... dito sa iloilo ang huling era ng mga kastila dahil dito ang kanilang last capital . nakasulat po yan sa philippine constitution ang three stars ng ph. Ma experience mo lng sir sa Iloilo ang traffic is during peak hours sa umaga at uwian sa hapon. If you noticed sir sa Iloilo is may maraming tulay and overpass. Na foresee kasi nila Drilon and Trenas na magkakaroon ng traffic sa lugar na iyan kaya ginagawan nila ng paraan , pinapatayuan na nila bf overpass at tulay para sa mga may private vehicles mayroon silang other options na madadaanan.

Hi Gala The Explorer, I really love your vlogs. I'm sorry your taxi driver is not too familiar with the city and its attractions that have interests to tourists. I fault the government, especially the Tourism office for that. I could have given you a better tour service .....he he he. I left Iloilo in the late 60s and the Philippines in the mid-80s. I'm back to Iloilo 1st time after the long absence in 2017, but I can still find my way around the city, no problem. Mandurriao/Mega World/Diversion Rd. were not around then. You were looking for the seaside area of Iloilo City, right? You were already in the right place where the driver said about Tatoy's, which is a seaside seafood restaurant. But he doesn't know anything or any plans of the city for that area. That road will be widened, and the establishments next to the shore will be moved to make the seaside view clear and uncluttered. The extent of that project is from Molo, part of the city to Oton, the first town out of the city limits, after Arevalo. I hope i didn't bore you with this talk. I just want to give you some info on what I have read about the city. My family is from Iloilo, and I keep up with its developments even if we don't live there anymore. I still keep frequent visits, infact I was there in 2022. Good luck, and keep up with your good work.
