Excellent class teacher you're amazing. I want to know something. Can I use these words with strong adjectives???? completely, definitely, totally. I just use absolutely 4 the moment. thanks for your answer.

Sorry, I made a mistake in this video. Completely, utterly and absolutely can all be used with strong adjectives. But 'completely' doesn't always collocate as well as the other two (I think this is why I made the mistake of saying it was used with weak adjectives)

I wonder why ( completely ) is used with gradable adjectives although it has nearly the same meaning with ( absolutely ) which is restricted to non gradable adjectives !

Hi, I'm from Argentina. My English book, which is very reliable, says that you can also use 'incredibly' and 'extremely' for gradable adjectives, and 'absolutely', 'completely' and 'totally' for ungradable ones. It also says that you can only use 'really' with gradable adjectives. I'm a bit confused.
@annakhandogiy7970

"Really" could be used for both: base and strong adjectives.

Rosa Viva sorry, I made a mistake in this vid. Completely is for non-gradable adjectives, rather than gradable. But, it only collocates with some of them. See my lesson on gradable and ungradable for more information.
