That shady daycare part really hit hard after I found out that for a short period of time, *I* was in one of them. Back when I lived in Utah, I went to this daycare that had bare pastel walls with tiny stickers on them. As I recall, the playground was never filled with kids. All of the toys and books were old and worn-down. The parents were in some secret room where they just talked. It was probably the saddest place I have even been to in my life.
