Strong call in this hour for repentance. Let's look together at what it looks like ✨

May is the month of prayer, fasting, repentance and Communion. Let's take a stand together for our families and our Nation.
According to Strong’s Concordance, repentance in the Greek is metanoia (3341), which means a change of mind or change in the inner man. But what is true repentance? I have seen in my own life, and in the lives of others, that it is common to feel guilty and ask God for forgiveness yet experience no true transformation after repenting. For a long time, I have sat with the Lord and asked Him to teach me what true repentance looks like. I don’t want to simply go through the motions of repentance as an outward display of my guilt and shame; I want my heart to be transformed by repentance.
“Even now,” says the Lord, “Turn and come to Me with all your heart [in genuine repentance], With fasting and weeping and mourning [until every barrier is removed and the broken fellowship is restored]; Rip your heart to pieces [in sorrow and contrition] and not your garments.” Now return [in repentance] to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, abounding in loving kindness [faithful to His covenant with His people]; And He relents [His sentence of] evil [when His people genuinely repent]. Joel 2:12-13 (AMP)
Repentance is not an outward display but, rather, a posture of our hearts. It is laying all that we are on the altar of God in full surrender, asking God to change us from the inside out. It is assuming the posture of willingness to be sifted and purified so that the transformation that is needed for God to move in our lives can have its way.
In the aforementioned scripture, God asks us to turn and come to Him, with all of our hearts, in true repentance, and to do whatever it takes to remove the barriers that hinder us from experiencing intimacy with Him. Sin removes us from the face of God; it prevents us from enjoying true fellowship with Him.
He desires that we should bring our shortcomings to Him and allow Holy Spirit to show us what it will take to remove the sin from recurring in lives, causing destruction.
God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 (TPT)
I love this eternal truth. When we confess our sins, our consciences are cleansed and our communion with our Father is restored to wholeness.
True repentance unblocks the flow of intimacy. The scales of sin, shame and guilt are removed and we are able to enjoy the unfettered closeness of His presence. When we understand that the blood of Jesus cleanses us, we can walk in the Garden with Him, as it was in Eden, confident that we are fully accepted and fully cleansed.
For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and He will not turn His face away from you if you return to Him. 2 Chronicles 30:9 (AMP)
It is important to live from a place of repentance, bringing your heart before the Father, asking Him to change you, continually realigning yourself with the purposes of God. This is by no means easy, but the more you make this the posture of your heart, the more natural it becomes. From this place of repentance, you will find that you walk so closely with the Father that you can hear His heartbeat. From my book 'FIGHT'.
