We have a famous song called 'Four Seasons in One Day' from a band called Crowded House, it is a NZ anthem. 'Even when you're feeling warm, the temperature can drop away' (or more more aptly on a day like this: 'smiling as shit the shit comes down'). Gorgeous song, great band. People writing-off NZ already shouldn't count their chickens just yet, NZ is learning how to play angry, so don't provoke them. You wouldn't like them when they're angry.

Still amazing how NZ have never beaten us in a test series. Ever! Compared to the Rugby rivalry.

SA have sent some very scary teams our way over the years - the disappointment of losing fades quickly, but watching Kallis & co play is a cherished memory. You could see it meant a lot for the guys to win that first test the way they did. Thanks for all the good sport over the years, it's a fun rivalry between good mates (I hope you guys feel that way too) - long may it last.

What an extraordinary comeback by South Africa after their dismal performance in the 1st test. They are well in control of this match and certainly have the potential to tie this series. New Zealand are clearly missing the services of Kane Williamson and they are pretty much on the verge of being out of the race of qualification to the final sadly enough!

Poor shot selection from NZ batters..... Sad to see for a NZ supporter! Conway and Latham pushing through the leg side, Nichols ridiculously trying to upper cut a short delivery, Blundell has left the ball.... Isn't expected from a strong NZ batting lineup. Mitchell and CDG are the only hopes to get a lead.... it's time to get a contribution from the lower order also!

@@mr.bhoobaun821 yes this is the worst batting lineup the blackcaps have had in decades, first time with no Williamson, Taylor, Watling since 08' except for injury, CDG batted well so far but is an average test cricketer, Conway is the only world class batter in the lineup, Latham is decent but other than the double ton hasnt really been in form, you know very little about cricket if you think this is a strong blackcap batting lineup and om from NZ

Wags is the true hero of this team - for so long, when things aren't going NZ's way they always turn to Neil, and he always manages to pull a rabbit out of his hat, and carries the whole team on his back. He's not a magician, he's a wizard. There is basically 0 chance NZ wins the WTC without him. His stamina and undiminishable enthusiasm are extraordinary - he is superhuman. People who know what he does for NZ were shocked he didn't get a game in India. If there was one guy in this squad we could've turned-to to make a difference and turn a game around it's him - he's not the most natural and skillful bowler we have, but he is relentless, and there's nobody quite as tough as him in all of cricket.

When an inexperienced SA used good application against a class blowing lineup to be 238/3 Pitch Merchants::-This is a flat pitch,should score 500 NZ are trash in flat pitches,only can beat in green tops But eventually SA struggled then as 303/8 With RVD 35 off 124,Bavuma 29 off 81 Nd when SA. bowled really well to allow NZ to score 157/5 Pitch Merchants:::-NZ just threw the wkt,NZ are a shit team struggling (and in flat pitch? 😂) Go well my legendary cricket bois
@soilders60632 жыл бұрын
This isn't a flat pitch but if you will see dismissal of nz batsman they just threw their wickets. Blunder's dismissal was brainfade while Latham and Conway got out on bad deliveries. Only will young got a good one.
@onylra62652 жыл бұрын
I keep telling people that NZ has the best pitches in the world for good cricket - if you play well you get rewarded. If bowlers bend their back they can find wickets, if batsmen play patiently and decisively they can score runs - people were saying last game that it was decided by the coin toss when SA were dismissed for under 100, but NZ made 500 and dismissed SA for 100 again. NZ scored 500 in the first innings at the same ground after being beaten by Bangladesh - there's no 'boo-hoo this pitch is a big meany' excuses here, you either bat poorly or bowl well. Sometimes you have a good contest and you 'only' get 350-ish. NZ has never had some kind of gift for batting on the awful green monsters of yesteryear that nobody else had, ask old South African teams. Nobody likes seeing games won by a coin toss. NZ isn't ambushing anybody with rubbish decks anymore - they're serving-up brilliant pitches that give everybody some really good cricket to watch.
@onylra62652 жыл бұрын
@V M you think so? I followed the Indian series and it was fun, but I don't think I'd call SA pitches particularly true/reliable for batsmen - did anybody crack 300 at any point? Did they even come close? I remember batsmen being utterly miserable and both teams barely managing to scratch-out 200-ish on awfully treacherous variable-bouncers. SA probably delighted they been served-up an opportunity to hit a ton here in NZ - or were you being sarcastic? Yeah, you must have been being VERY sarcastic.
@onylra62652 жыл бұрын
@V M Good pitches are called 'good' because they're good for batting-on - I would say if top-class international teams can't accumulate 300 once in an entire series that batting was quite difficult. I would probably rather bowlers have a little bit too much to work with than not enough, because it makes for more interesting contests and gives results rather than boring draws, but fans of cricket should also want batsmen to have a chance to score runs. It's not easy to find a good balance, and I think NZ gets the closest of any country. I question how anybody could watch Mat Henry bowling in the first test and call the pitch a road. NZ struggled a bit with the bat under pressure by good bowling, but CDG played a brilliant knock which made it look quite easy. Now at tea on day 3 the match is poised and a draw is the most unlikely result. People with tickets for day 5 wont be throwing them in the bin just yet. This is how cricket should be.
