I feel bad for the Lakota people and the other native nations. I saw first hand how it was four summers ago when i went to the Lakota Nation for two weeks. It was beautiful but sad at the same time to see them suffer the way they have for so long. They really are beautiful people!

It brührt my heart and my soul. I felt even as a child this deep connection with these people and their culture. I've always felt at home there. It's crazy how this was taught in school..that tribes were against each other, when our traditional ways of life are peaceful and teach coexistence with everything. What gets me is the misinformed natives that say what books taught them, basically untrue propaganda to demean natives. I do my part by sharing my cultural knowledge to my family and to also learn the school taught mistruth about us and take with a grain of salt.

I wish there was something I could do but I understand the barriers etc. As long as there are people like Moses Brings Plenty who take the time to help us (non native) understand the situation things will eventually get better for them. I have wanted to do something for a long time, but I see the problem with sending a large box of clothing, not knowing if it even gets there, etc. If there is a donation program on Pine Ridge please let us know...
