A still laying queen being superceded is a good chance for a quick split. Might as well let her have a last hurrah and get a benefit.

Great video. Its a little scary recognizing all the roads you took... ive stood right in that area. Btw i dont recommend getting premium gas at the small station there. I got water in my motorcycle tank last time i was there which was around the same time you were there.
@brucesbees7 ай бұрын
Ha! I don’t typically buy premium gas. Just too expensive.

Wow. I had no idea you had a Utah connection. I'm in utah also. I'm just surprised we have a lot in common. And recognized those roads. Utah County also. It is a bit dry out here. We're sort of in bad drought years.

Thanks Terry! I had to finally break out the Guardian bee pants a couple of times to deal with my crazy bees. They work well.

Yes, there are beekeepers in Utah :-) I'm sad that I don't have a KZbinr that originates from Utah. I wish I knew you were coming and we could all get together haha. you went right by my house in Provo. I love it here! I'm a backyard beekeeper and I have seven hives right now. Thank you for your video it was enjoyable to watch.

Keep me posted and maybe we could check them out another time. I have 3 kids living in Utah now so we will be making trips out on occasion. I went to BYU in the early 90s and have a daughter there now. Small world.

Wow, it really is a small world! I live in Salt Lake, but I keep my 25 hives about 10 miles east of that area (near Payson-Santaquin). It would appear you have quite a Fanclub in Utah! 😂

Man that is so cool. I have often wondered if there were many folks out here who knew who I was. Would like to grow the footprint a bit. My mother in law lives in Sandy and that’s where we are staying. I went to BYU back in the early 90s. Married the girl of my dreams. Even played a little football there back in the day. I love Utah. It has been good to me.

I was actually there from fall of 88 to December 92. So just missed you. I love BYU. Have one daughter that graduated from there and lived in the Pleasant Grove area. My daughter that was I the video started at Troy but is a BYU student now. The little boy at the beginning of the video is her son. I have a son that lives in Sandy and my youngest just graduated from high school and will be attending Auburn. She is moving in Saturday! So we will be empty nesters.

He showed Styrofoam covers in first part of video but then had migratory covers on all the hives? When does he use them?
@brucesbees2 жыл бұрын
I’m the winter time. Creates an upper entrance and ventilation. Pure the styrofoam directly over the bees and a lid on top. Uses the styrofoam instead of an inner cover in the winter. No inner cover in the summer.
