New player here :) what kind of setting or is there one, so instead of my aoe spells/skills shows the aim area. It cast where I aim the mouse right away?

The gear needs work. Don’t need refreshing spike, accelerating flamethrower. Get unending thaw on your IG, then Stack resil, refreshing, shirking fort. One piece can be resil, shirk fort or refreshing with burnout. And shower over tomb all day. You can peel so good with shower and set up kills. A mage’s strongest trait is their range dynamics and their super aggressive defensive plays. For instance, hatchet gs hounding you@ 30% hp, Shower into spike roll change into fire staff popping that opal buff, light into fireball into flamethrower 100%-0% in 2 seconds. And the best thing about flame thrower is you can keep a max distance of 3 meters. Which keeps you out of a lot of melee skills like the hammer shockwave, spear coup etc. it just takes practice and learning how to space your character out.

GS Hatchet is much better and the gear needed to make it insane is cheap, mage gear is pretty expensive since not many people make it

@@ItsDameTime it depends on your playstyle if you don’t like being up close all the time then mage could be better for you in pvp but for pve mage is the worst in the game, mutation groups won’t accept you since the dps is so low

@@ItsDameTime Yeah in pve mage has always been awful especially with the devs making enemies resistant to certain magic types each week, but pvp mainly small scale mage honestly is pretty good, I would still say great sword hatchet is better for assassinations and what not though

i feel like best weaponcombo is fs bb if you gonna play firestaff, bb for aoe oneshot and fs for long range + a nuke ability(fireball)

Bb doesn’t provide utility like the ice gauntlet. You have root from shower and frosted heavy hits. Then you have ice spike which can be used to nuke super hard or it can be used to stagger. Plus bb is used for single target burst which doesn’t set up well with the fire staff.

Only strong in arenas. But those matches were against very low skilled players. You have to invest so much into fs gear to be viable full igniting gems. With shirking fort at least 3 to 4 stacks 4 to 5 resil. Plus finding perks. Fs is good if your good. It doesn't compare to other range with less investment. Bow musket are way stronger for less not to mention a great sword user with every debuff in the game. So take this video with a grain of salt. It's not a pick up and melt class. Only good build is FT FB BO. But attunement doesn't work on persistent dmg so it only affects FB and Bo amd lights. I run keen visious keenly jagged with FT. With igniting opal.

Yes, it will deplete the mana bar in a few seconds of use.

Appreciate the content but I would tell all players who haven’t played mage at end game to stay away. Your time is better spent on any other weapon and will be more rewarding. This IMO is click bait and trying to grab attention knowing the awful state mage is in.
