I will do my best to explain and correct everything this "master" is shilling. Firstly, Tai Chi is a martial art. The postures within the forms do have some martial application. However, it is considered an "old man style." It is for people who cannot or should not meet the intensity of more hardcore forms or styles but still wish to work on coordination and technique. It should not be treated like a combat style on its own. Secondly, the style he references is Yang (pronounced yong) style. It is the most common style that you see people doing in parks, and it's also the style I have most experience with. If you want a more combative style, I recommend looking into Chen Style. What he's demonstrating in the first clip is a drill called "Push Hands" in English. The purpose is to teach about yielding and balance, as well as the importance of moving the entire body all at once from the hips. It is primarily a warm-up drill. As well, he is seated during it, meaning he is not able to actually move from the hips. He does not have full range of motion that would be necessary to do what he is doing to the man he is demonstrating on. Repulse The Monkey will not stop a takedown. Its intended martial purpose is to draw the opponent in using one arm, and strike the opponent's face with the other arm. He has very bad technique in his demonstration. Not even because he wasn't even using the retraction of his left arm which is pretty dumb, but he does it so wrong that it looks like an entirely different technique altogether, called "Grasp the Bird's Tail." Golden Rooster (translations and all that) is an implied knee. In forms, it usually follows a very low posture (Snake Creeps Down). The intention is that you take on your opponent's mass to bring him off balance with the low posture, then come up and strike with the knee. It is very unnatural and dangerous to put yourself onto one leg, so the exaggerated stance is for training balance. Even his posture is wrong, as he is definitely locking his knee on his pedestal leg. The Golden Rooster is especially egregious. When someone does a leg shoot, that person needs to root the foot to the ground. To use this defense would require you to lift your leg using more leg strength than your opponent can plant it using his entire body weight. In short, you must out muscle him, contradicting his own teaching. I do not recommend that being your defense against a takedown. You'd be better off trying to knee him in the face as he lunges, which is also difficult to pull off. For that last clip, he briefly demonstrates either Ward Off or Part Wild Horse's Mane, two similar postures. However, he is not doing either when actually working with the assistant, and even if he intended to, that's not what the motion implies. They are for separating an opponent's arms and opening up the chest. He's actually doing the opposite in his demonstration. It should be said that there is some interpretation to the techniques' applications; however, I really cannot condone his. Some of his are directly contradicting fundamental principles of the art, and others butcher and compromise the technique to fit a completely different purpose than intended. If you take anything away from this, it's that if you want to defend yourself, learn a combative art like Muay Thai, and let the Tai Chi be supplementary. If you just do Tai Chi, do not think you know how to fight. Use it recreationally for coordination and bettering of the self.

I never seen chi in practice before beside a blimmer of something similiar though lower lvl in jojo with breathing tecniques but watching this being practiced in real life truly opened my eyes to the way of the ancient chi and desire to go on a discovery journey to achieve my max chi potential.
